Taking the Temperature
Many people believe that they will know their dog's temperature if he/she has a wet, cold nose. That is not true. For one thing, the nose is usually wet because there's either moisture in the air, or your dog licks it. To
really take your dog's temperature, you have to use a thermometer. It's actually quite similar to taking the temperature of a baby!
1. Put petroleum jelly on the tip of the thermometer.
2. Very gently, insert 2/3 of its length through your dog's anus.
3. Hold it in for about three minutes to get your dog's correct temperature.
