Von Willebrand's Disease
Von Willebrand's Disease is a bleeding disorder that prohibits blood clotting. It can also cause abnormal thyroid function. In worse cases your dog may bleed to death, but usually dogs with this disease have no symptoms and feel no pain. This is passed genetically and fortunately the gene that holds this disease can be surgically removed. Blood tests are available to see if your dog has this disease. This is not unusual in corgis, so breeders are trying to purify the gene pool and get rid of it. So if your corgi has it, please don't breed.
