Ala Moana Beach

This is Ala Moana Beach. I really like it here because there are those big breaker thingies that stop all the big waves that you see crashing up on them from coming and hitting me instead. The beach is a little rocky in some places, but in the water, it's very nice... Unless it's at night. For some reason, as soon as the sun goes down, these really little shrimp-like thingies come out and start nibbling and biting you. So you don't want to be in the water after the sun goes down.

This isn't the beach... Ala Moana is a beach park with lots of other areas. From here you can see Diamondhead crater, part of Waikiki, and Waikiki beach. We prefer Ala Moana because we think the water is nicer and there are fewer weirdos. :) Waikiki beach is famous for Duke Kahanamoku, a Hawaiian surfer dude and all around nice guy who won a whole bunch of Olympic medals for swimming.

Here is another picture of Waikiki Beach. You can't see them very well in the picture, but all those little spots are surfers. There are a ton of them out there. I have no idea how they don't crash into each other when riding a wave back to shore... But I haven't seen or heard of any accidents.
