Waimea Bay

This is Waimea Bay. Like Sunset Beach, the sun sets over the ocean here. We've always liked this beach... It is surrounded by green cliffs on all sides and has a little park with picnic tables.

We don't actually swim here much though. You can't tell from the pictures, but the sand descends very steeply into the water, and so it is tough for me to get down there. Mostly I like to stay higher where it is nice and flat and play in the sand.

Mostly this is a nice relaxing place to enjoy playing in the sand and watching the other swimmers and the sun as it goes down. There are some very, very large waves just a short distance east of us, and we can watch the surfers from here.
