She's Crying Again
© 2001 Elizabeth Marquez
(V1)
The anxiety builds up
As her hands strike her skin
Without self-control
The razor finds release again
As she watches the blood flow
Down her arms to the floor
The pain is swept away
As the tears start to flow
(C1)
In her world of pain
She’s crying again
The doors close tight
And no one can get in
She can’t find her voice
When she needs to be heard
So she cuts her skin
Instead of finding the words
In her world of pain
She’s crying again
(V2)
Even on hot summer days
Long sleeves don’t let it show
She hides her dirty secret
So no one will know
She doesn’t want to die
Just wants the pain to end
She cries alone at night
With a razor as her friend
(C1)
In her world of pain
She’s crying again
The doors close tight
And no one can get in
She can’t find her voice
When she needs to be heard
So she cuts her skin
Instead of finding the words
In her world of pain
She’s crying again
(B)
Pushed too hard to excel
She cut so she had to tell
This time it required attention
Thirty stitches to repair her skin
(C2)
In her world of pain
She’s crying again
But the doors are opening
Now letting others in
She’s using her voice
When she needs to be heard
The razor’s no longer her friend
Cause she’s finding the words
(T)
She didn’t want to die
Just wanted the pain to end
