Was always too sick to play
He was different from all the others
His disease made people afraid
His life was full of controversy
But for most he cleared a path
He opened up some minds
But to some it was God’s wrath

In a world otherwise so grim
No one understood his fight
Some thought it was revenge of sin

He would see that his courage lives on
With every battle that’s waged
With better tests and miracle drugs
The infected live longer
But death still dwells inside
