Those so-called words of wisdom?
Those condescending clauses?
Forget I ever mentioned them,
Or even that I thought them,
My feelings of detachment?
My supposed suffocation?
Forget those too, my sweet, my dear,
I feel now only elation.
From the day that I first spoke to you,
When opinions were first made,
To the day that we became a thing,
And the tides began to change.
How now I love to hold you,
And to see your splendid smile.
I wish to never need forget,
This feeling for long a while.
