There's alot of confusion about this Subject. I believe most of it's because of the Bad and Mistranslation's! First, we need to Know to correct Translation and Definition of the word "Tongue(s)". The Strongs Hebrew/Greek dictionary of the Holy Scriptures defines the word, Tongues #1100, as "langauge(s). The Websters Dictionary defines Tongue as A language or dialect in the Bible, a nation or people speaking a distinct language French, English, Spanish, ect.Rev;7-9.
Now, Let's Study the Scriptures, on this Topic to See for Sure What the Holy Book says! Chapter # 12 of First Corinthians is very clear on this matter.
Verse #4, says; "Now there are different, kinds of gitfs, but the Same Spirit".
Verse #5, says; "and there are different, Kinds of ministries,but the Same Messiyah".
Verse #6, says; "There are different, Kinds of working, but the same Father works in all of them in all men".
Verse #7, says; "Now to each one is given the Manifestation of the Holy Spirit for the common advantage"
Verse #8, says;For to one is given the word of Wisdom, by the Spirit; to another the Word of Knowledge by the Same Spirit.
Verse #9, To another Faith, by the Same Spirit; to another gifts of Healings ,by the Same Spirit..
Verse #10, To another, working acts of Power, to another , Prophecy; to another discerning of Spiirts; to another the Ability to Speak in Different Kinds of Languages (Tongues); to another the interpretation of Languages (Tongues.
)Verse #11; But all are the works of one and the Same Spirit; Apportioning to each Person indvidually. As we see, There are many different gifts, and not Everyone Has the Same Gift, but we are still members of the Same Holy Family!
Lets look at Chapter #14; Verse #3; But he that Prophesies speaks unto men to Edification and Exhortation and Comfort. Her is The Reason for The Gift of speaking in another Languages or" Tongues", as interpreted by the "King James version of the Holy Bible.
Verse # 4; He that Speaks in an unknown Langauge (Tongues), Edifies himself; but he who Prophecys, Edify's the Congregion.
Verse #5; It Would Be wounderful if you all spoke in tougues, but it would be Better to Prophecy, for Greater is he that Prophecys than he that speaks in unknown Languages, Except He that Interpret's, That the Congregation may receive edifying.
This is the Reason for the Gift of Speaking in, Other Languages or "tongues".
I've witnessed for myself , what i Assumed to be, the" Speaking of tongues", by the Whole Congregation, with out anyone Prophecying or Interpreting for the Congregation. The Whole Congregation its self was "Speaking something, No one could understand, TheWhole Congregation, Everyone, Babbling, At the SAME Time!
This Practice is contray to the Holy Bible!
Verse # 22, gives use the Main Reason for the Gift of "Tongues".It is a Sign for the NON-beleivers.
Now Read the next verse's, and as you get to verse #27 the Picture Should, Be clear. #27, says TWO! Three at the Most!
Not The Whole Congregation!
SO Just WHO is it that we are Following, if this Doctrine of The whole congregation is "speaking in tongues". The "churches are Confused, and Are, Actually Against the Most High! Do Erorr, Not Knowing the Scriptures! Think about this , if everyone in the congregation speaks the same language, what is the Point in Speaking in some other Language?
Verse #33 , tells us The Almighty is Not The Author of Confusion! We Know, Who IS, the Author of confusion, the adversary, satan!
Chapters #12-14, give's Us, very, very, Clear Instruction's, about "Speaking", in Different Languages, or tongues! Second tim. 2:15, Gives Instruction to STUDY! Is it Important Enough to You!
