Guy Williams
Picture compliments of Joy Tilley
Well, we do know that we are ALL nuts about Guy. It has everything to do
with fun, and comaradarie, and enjoying life, and loving all his
marvelous attributes, and being alive, and doing wonderful things like
the HWOF Star and the Bronx WOF, The BENCH in Central Park, the Freedom
Scholarship Fund, and what else did I leave out?
He is our marvelous inspiration, not just because of his fabulous,
unique good looks that he shared with us, but because of his friendly
personality, his thoughtfulness, his goodness, his marvelous fatherhood
and husbandhood, his sweetness, his tenderness, his kindness, his
athleticism, his working so hard to perfect his swordsmanship and whip
play and horsemanship to portray such wonderful heroes and give us a
wonderful time watching his work in the films he did. His championship
chessplaying. His photography. His salt water fish. His love of
astronomy and Beethoven. His sportsmanship.
Those gorgeous eyes, tender one moment, but capable of showing great
anger. The jaw, such a perfect line, but scary when clinched in
determination or anger. The shoulders, wide enough to carry the work in
which he starred--Zorro, Captain Sindbad, Damon, Lost in Space; sweet
and soft enough to carry a frightened child to safety. The rest of his
torso and gorgeous legs, strong and agile, leaping and running to
accomplish a mission. His masculinity.
He is our hero. We don't think of him as just a handsome man. He shared
his principles with us, his dedication to justice, to fairness, and to
equity, not just in his films, but in real life. He chose his films to
portray his principles.
Okay, so we comment outrageously on his physical characteristics
sometimes, but beneath it all, we are sincerely devoted to the entire
man--his intellect, his spirit, his heart as well as his gorgeous looks.
Aren't we?
But most of all, if we have good, clean fun.
