(It appears that Monastario has Diego cornered. "Admit that you are Zorro or your throat will never utter another sound.")

(The Viceroy is turning command of the pueblo over to Sergeant Garcia.)

(After the duel, Capitan Monastario and Licenciado Pina have been arrested. Sergeant Garcia has been made acting Commandante. Diego asks, "What will be your first order of the day?", to which the Sgt. replies, "I shall declare a holiday.")
