(Diego and Ricardo are both smitten with Anna Maria, and the rivalry begins.)

(Diego can not believe his ears when Sergeant Garcia tells him he is under arrest for being a horse thief.)

(Diego, Anna Maria, and Ricardo are going riding. Since Ricardo has gotten Diego's horse for him, and Diego doesn't trust Ricardo, he checks under the saddle for burrs.)
