(Ricardo has challenged Zorro to a duel. Diego and Anna Maria have joined him as he practices with a gun, whips, and sword. This also gives Diego the opportunity to see how skilled Ricardo is.)

(Diego and Anna Maria watch as Ricardo practices with the whips. Diego has instructed Bernardo to really go for Ricardo. But Ricardo appears to be quite adept at using the whips as he easily bests Bernardo.)

(Bernardo doesn't want Zorro to meet Ricardo. He's worried that Ricardo might be able to beat Zorro. Zorro replies, "That's why I accepted the challenge, I want to find out.")
