(As Monastario is making advances towards Elena on the patio, Diego interrupts with a love song.)

(Elena has told Diego that she has decided to marry Capitan Monastario. Diego admits to her that the "better man won." Diego knew it was a trick so that she and her father could leave, with her father disguised as Monastario.)

(Diego has successfully gotten Don Nacho out of the hacienda and on his way to Monterey. Now Zorro will follow.)
