(Diego is talking with his father and Nacho Torres, both of whom are in jail for treason. Diego is concerned about the upcoming trial.)

(Sergeant Garcia and some of his lancers are leaving the cuartel, and Diego wonders what they are up to.)

(Diego has tested Bernardo to see if he would react to a loud noise. Diego: "You play your part well, my friend.")
