Three years have gone by and the Z-fighters await the arrival of the androids foretold by Trunks three years ago. There is the Z-fighters learn that they cannot sense the androids and are going to have to find them the old fashioned way. They each split up and scour the city for the androids, which proves to be a hard task since they have no idea what they look like. The androids detect Yamucha and approach him. Yamucha asks them if they have seen any androids, Android 20 announces that they are the androids. He then grabs Yamucha by the neck and proceeds to absorb his energy. Then the android inpales Yamucha. A truck explodes and catches the attention of the other fighters.

Krillin takes Yamucha to safety and heals him with a senzu bean while Goku begins to fight Android 19. Goku tries to lead them away from innocents, 20 hears this and shoots beams out of his eyes leveling half the city. This enrages Goku and he becomes a super saiyan. Android 20 agrees to go where Goku leads them. Goku, Gohan, Tien, and Picollo lead the androids out of the city. Tien notices Goku using a lot of energy by just flying. Android 20 gets fed up from all the flying and chooses the deserted area that they are in and lands. The showdown between Android 19 and Goku begins.

Goku seems to do fairly well at first. Goku shoots at Kamehameha at the android but it is absorbed, Yamucha knowing of this, tells Goku not to use any more energy attacks. Goku's power begins to fade as the heart virus Trunks warned him about begins to attack him from the inside. This allows Android 19 to steal Goku's energy when Goku is on the ground. Goku is helpless. Picollo tries to stop him but 20 gets in the way. Picollo proceeds and gets hit from 20's eye laser. Just then, Android 19 is thrown off of Goku by Vegeta. He announces that if anyone is to kill Goku it would be him. Vegeta surprises everyone by transforming into a super saiyan, this then is followed by a short story of how he became a super saiyan. Yamucha takes Goku to his house to get the medicine Trunks gave him 3 years back.

Vegeta does really well against Android 19 and defets him. Just then, 19 grabs Vegeta's arms and prepares to rob him of his energy. Vegeta puts both his feet on 19's face and pulls his arms off. Frightened, 19 runs for his artificial life, but is destroyed by Vegeta's big bang attack. 20 flees the scene knowing that he is not strong enough to beat Vegeta. Vegeta knowing that the android stole some energy, asks Krillin for a senzu be. Krillin hesitates but then throws him a bean. Vegeta then chases after 20.

Android 20 vanishes into an area filled with landscapes. Krillin, Tien, Gohan and Picollo are there looking for 20. 20 devises a plan to steal enough energy from them in order to defeat Vegeta. He spots Picollo and begins to drain his energy. Picollo telepathically calls Gohan for help. Gohan hits 20 off of Picollo. Krillin give Picollo a senzu bean and then he and 20 begin battle. 20 is shocked that Picollo is stronger because he is registered as one of the weaker fighters in his data. Picollo tells him that they were foretold about their arrival. Picollo grabs 20's arm and breaks it off with his other hand. He crushes it and throws it to the ground. 20 seeing that he cannot win, manages to escape. He journeys in the ground becaouse the others are sure to find him if he flies. He proceeds to go to his lab.

Meanwhile, Trunks comes back and is shocked to see that those are not the same androids in his time. He meets up with the others and reveals that 20 is Dr. Gero, the creator of the androids. Unfortunately Trunks does not know where his lab is and he helps them find it.

Krillin find the lab and alerts the others by incresing his power level, unfortunately, Dr. Gero has gotten there first and is already inside. He has releses two more androids, 17 and 18. Vegeta burns through the door and enters. 17 and 18 kill Dr. Gero and release Android 16. Vegeta and Android 18 due battle in a crowded highway. Trunks and the others are there but Vegeta insists that he fights alone. 17 tell them if they interfere, he will as well. Vegeta gets badly hurt and Trunks leaps out, only to be caught by 17 and thrown at Vegeta. Both of them fall and revert to normal saiyan form. The androids leave in pursuit of Goku, having "fun" along the way.

Vegeta and Trunks realize that they will not be able to defeat the androids unless they get stronger. Picollo leaves and heads for Kami. Krillin realizes that Picollo wants to fuse with Kami so he can defeat the androids. Meanwhile, Goku is taken to Master Roshi's island so he wont be found by the androids. While Goku is being moved to Kami, The Z-fighters get a call from Bulma saying that she found a time capsule just like the one Trunks came in. Trunks and Krillin go check it out. Gohan also wants to go, but Chi-chi makes him study instead. Trunks, Krillin and Bulma meet up and investigate. Trunks tells her that it is the same Time Capsule that he came back in. They find a purple egg like thing inside and the glass is broken. Trunks checks the computers and discovers that it has been there three years. There is a shell of a locust-like creature nearby, whatever landed has been growing for 3 years.

Terror has struck a small town. Kami finally accepts Picollo's proposal to fuse and they do so. The fusion is complete and Picollo is now a super namek, stronger than a super saiyan. Picollo flies down to the town (Ginger Town) and checks out what all the terror is. He finds clothing scattered everywhere. A man offers Picollo money if he would save his life. Suddenly a green insect-like creature approaches and sucks the man right out of his clothing. This marks the end of the android saga.
