I totally forgot. We gotta get going." Tai said as he stood up and frantically put in his clothes. When Tai finished, they ran to return to camp.
By the time Matt and Tai had returned to camp, the sun was already peeking it's bright face over the horizon. Sora ran up to them, "Matt, Tai! Where were you guys? Izzy told us the Piedmon is gonna be here in less than two hours. We have to get ready" "Right" They both said simultaneously. "Agumon, you better warp digivolve." Tai said, "Right! Agumon warp digivolve to...Wargreymon!" The lumbering Digimon towered over Tai with a fire in his eyes and a purpose in his heart. "You better do your stuff too Gabumon." Matt said, "Right! Gabumon warp digivolve to...Metalgarurumon!" The huge android Digimon powered up and was ready for action. The rest of the Digimon did their thing.

Now! With their combined strength, the Digidestined were now ready to face Piedmon. Izzy pointed them in the direction in which Piedmon was coming. They all headed in that direction. This is it! The final bout between the Digidestined and the last remaining Dark Master. It's gonna be a wild ride, but we're ready! Matt thought. I can't believe it! The fight with Piedmon is immanent. I just hope we can hold down the fort with such a powerful Digimon! Izzy thought. Oh boy! I can't believe this is happening! Here we are about to get into the fight of our lives, and Tai isn't the least bit worried! We're doomed! Joe thought. We can do this! I know we can. There's no stopping us now. We're the Digidestined, hear us ROAR! Tai thought. Wow! We're finally gonna fight Piedmon. I hope we can do it! T.K. thought. I just hope that no one gets hurt. And in this of all fights, I hope I'm right! Mimi thought. There's no turning back now! We have to do this for the sake of the Digital World and for Earth! Thought Sora. I'm not afraid! I have all my friends with me. And we're gonna do whatever it takes to win! Kari thought. The two hours passed, and an ominous site befell the eyes of the Digidestined. It was Piedmon. He came into view as he walked over the closing horizon. They soon met face to face. "Hello Digidestined! I was just on my way to greet you! I have a little something for you in fact." Piedmon said with a sinister grin. "Well wha'dya know! We were just on our way to meet you as well. Fancy that!" Tai said confidently. "We've got a surprise for you Piedmon!" Matt said with a smile, "Oh do you now? Well I'd sure like to see it..." Piedmon didn't seem too threatened by Matt's warning. That is until he felt the fury of Metalgarurmon's Ice Wolf Claw attack. It sent him flying. When he regained his bala!
nce, he was met with the awesome power of Wargreymon's Terra Force attack. It once again sent him hurling into a nearby mountain. All the Digimon wasted no time in attacking. They aimed all their attacks at the mountain Piedmon had hit.

All the attacks were dead on. The mountain exploded in a brilliant flash of white. When the dust cleared, the Digidestined were horrified to find that the huge cluster of attacks had not destroyed Piedmon. But he merely had the wind knocked out of him. He staggered to his feet, dusted himself off and jumped into the air.
"Trump Sword" He yelled as he sent the four clown swords screeching at the Digidestined. But the attack was canceled out by Wargreymon's shield. Piedmon growled and flew over to the Digimon. They all converged upon him, and attacked for all they were worth. And for a minute it seemed to be working. Piedmon appeared to be getting weaker with every blow that the Digimon delivered. But Piedmon had one last trick up his vile sleeve. He gathered all of his energy and with one mighty blast, executed a devastating explosion attack that knocked all the Digimon cold. "Oh no! They're down!" Sora cried. "This can't be happening!" Mimi said. "Have we lost?" Joe asked to himself. "We can't lose. We're the Digidestined!" Tai yelled out. All seemed to be lost. Was there no hope?
Piedmon floated to the ground laughing, "HA HA HA! It looks like the Digidestined have uttered their last performance. Allow me to take out the lead actor!" Piedmon yelled as he pulled out one of his clown swords. He charged at Tai with all of his speed. Wargreymon was powerless to stop him.
"HEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" Piedmon shouted as he flew towards Tai. Tai tried to move, but he was petrified with fear. He couldn't move. Tai closed his eyes. From only a few feet away, Matt looked on in horror. No! he thought. He ran towards Tai and threw himself in front of him. Tai expected to have been killed, but hen he opened his eyes, he saw something that made his blood run cold. There, right in front of him, was Matt. Piedmon's sword had impaled Matt through the chest.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Tai screamed. Piedmon, with an evil grin, twisted the sword like a corkscrew and pulled it out of Matt's torso. "Fool!" Piedmon said coldly. Matt began to fall backwards, but Tai caught him before he cold hit the ground. "No Matt! Why? Why?" Tai said already in tears, "I...had to...protect you! I couldn't...just stand there and...watch Piedmon kill you. I would rather die myself...than have to watch you die." Matt said hoarsely. Large rivers of blood flowed from Matt's chest and mouth. "No Matt! You didn't have to. I would proudly give my life for any of us. You didn't have to make a martyr of yourself." Tai cried out. "Don't...worry about it! It's up to you now my love. Win this war...for me...promise me!" Matt said. "No! You're gonna make it. I won't let you die. I won't!" Tai bravely proclaimed. Piedmon interrupted, "Ha! It was easy to get rid of you! Just think of how easy it will be to dispose of the rest of you!" he said evilly. The Digidestined wept to see this happen. "Tai...!
promise me...you'll come through for...for the Digidestined...for the Digital World...for Earth...for me." Matt had tears streaming down his face, he looked up with those beautiful cerulean eyes. "I...I promise!" Tai said.
Matt smiled, "Thank you...I knew I could...count on you!" "Just tell me why you did it!" Tai insisted, "All right! If you...insist. If I didn't have you, my whole life would have been for...nothing. You're the reason I'm alive. You're the reason...I get up in the mornings. You are my...everything. And I would proudly give my life...if it meant that you could live on. I have one last...favor to ask of you my love. Tell my tale to those who ask...tell it truly...the rest...is...silence." Matt took in his last breath, and fell limp in Tai's arms.
"Matt?...Matt!...no...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Tai screamed out in anguish. "Matt was a fool! His pitiful human emotions led him to his doom!" Piedmon said. The Digidestined and their Digimon all wept for the loss of Matt! Tai felt a gaping void in his heart. He felt like he had nothing to live for now! "It can't end like this...not after what we shared last night." Tai was distraught. Suddenly, something happened. The tears the Digidestined and their Digimon shed started to glow a bright white. The tears floated from the ground and covered the Digimon in a blanket of white, they all rose from the ground, and formed into eight balls of glowing energy. The Digidestined watched in awe as the balls of energy began to merge. "What's this?" Piedmon cried. The balls of energy merged to form on entity. They formed........................Wing Zero (from Gundam Wing).
The new entity was huge. Piedmon trembled in fear, "How could this be? This can't be possible!" he yelled. Then, the entity spoke, "It is very possible, Piedmon! We are one, and we will now take revenge on you!" The entity's voice sounded like all the Digimon in one! Then, Wing Zero's eyes lit up, and it flew into the air. It lifted a huge weapon from it's side, and pointed it straight at Piedmon. "Prepare to meet your doom, Piedmon!" The weapon started to charge, the moment had come. Piedmon is defeated. Wing Zero shouted out his attack,
"HEAVEN'S GLORY!!!"
The weapon fired an immense bright blue beam straight at Piedmon. The contact was dead on. Piedmon was vaporized in an instant. Piedmon didn't even have time to scream. When the dust cleared, a huge crater was left where Piedmon was destroyed. The Digidestined ran over to the crater, but Tai stayed behind. "Piedmon's finally gone! The war is over!" shouted Joe. They all cheered in rejoice. But no such cheers came from Tai. "Sure the war is over. BUT AT WHAT COST?" Tai shouted! "I've lost everything. Matt's gone." Tai held Matt's body close to him, weeping bitter tears. "Tai!" Wing Zero floated to the ground aside of Tai. "We can bring Matt back to you!" said Wing Zero. "You...you can?" Tai asked.
"Yes!" Wing Zero replied. Tai's face lit up. "Oh please Zero! Please bring him back to me!" Tai called out frantically. "Stand back!" Wing Zero said. Tai backed away and watched Wing Zero work his magic. Zero called out the magic word,
"HEAVEN'S MERCY"
Wing Zero's wings began to shine a bright pink. "Ooooo! Pretty!" Mimi commented.
The glowing pink energy engulfed Matt's body. Suddenly, in a bright white flash, the energy had dissipated. Tai slowly approached Matt's body, and knelt down beside him. Then, Matt opened his eyes. He looked at Tai. He saw his face light up. "Oh Matt! You're back! Oh I'm so happy." Tai cried tears of joy as Matt wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tight. "Is it over? I’d Piedmon...gone?" Matt asked. "Yes! It's finally over Matt!" Tai said. "I feel so weak! What happened? The last thing I remember is being impaled by Piedmon's sword. How am I alive?" Matt asked, "We healed you." Said Wing Zero. Matt looked up and his jaw dropped open when he saw what all the Digimon had become, "Wow!" was all he could say. Tai laughed a little and hugged his love more tightly than before.
