What do you think about the... plot?
Hm¡­ well, the plot of this anime is so awesome! Even though this one sentence summary has been used many times before¡­ ¡®A girl gets transported to another world and has adventures there¡­¡¯ and so on. But there is much more that makes it unique. The way Kawamori Shoji, Escaflowne¡¯s director, portrays everything is almost to perfect.

music?
The music is absolutely marvelous. It suites the theme just right. They even hired real composers to write the music.

artwork?
The artwork is pretty simple except for the awesome machines called Guymelefs. Also I think everyone would agree when I say that they need a lot of work in reducing the ¡®sharpness¡¯ of the character¡¯s noses.

it being aired on TV?
Well personally I don¡¯t like anime that has already been gone through an operation called dubbing/cutting in which all the good stuff went bye-bye and is left with the boring stuff. That is exactly what I think when I watch the anime that has been dubbed/cut. I am actually not surprised about Escaflowne getting kicked off the air, because of the horrible job they did of cutting and dubbing it. The English VA¡¯s (voice actor/actress) can¡¯t even pronounce the names correctly. You may wonder that if TV did a bad job on Escaflowne, why is DBZ and Sailormoon so popular? Well, the answer is this: DBZ and Sailormoon don¡¯t have a complicated story to it. If they cut some things off it, who cares? No one will miss a thing, BUT as for Escaflowne, which does have a complicated story to it, you will be confused.

Overall opinion of Escaflowne:
The first time I saw this anime, I went totally crazy over it. It¡¯s so awesome! I could watch all 27 hours of it straight without stopping. (well... maybe a bathroom break inbetween) I watched it over and over, went online and got as many pictures of it as I could, and started to go to sites to get more details of the story. I do not really understand people who could ¡®dislike¡¯ Escaflowne, unless they don¡¯t like anime period or if they saw the TV version of it.
