Selene Part 1

~Selene~ The Awakening of Evil

It was a warm, quiet day when young Selene was sitting in the courtyard of her mother’s castle. She was having a flashback. She saw (in still frame) her gorgeous mother holding her up for her father to see. Her mother was once a heroine. She fought for good and was world-renowned. Her father on the other hand was a messiah of evil, but in a battle to the death her mother had healed her father and saved him. She turned him good and he forgot his evil ways. Years later they married and had her. She had remembered (somehow) her father saying

“But will she not be evil?” And her mother replying

“She is my daughter too. We have nothing to fear and besides you are no longer evil.”

“SELENE!!!” she was snapped out of her daydream by her mother’s cry.

“Mother again” she sighed and ran towards the call.

Her mother was a vain, cruel woman. Even though she was queen of the planet and a heroine, she had let it all go to head, and she began to hate Selene for her youth and beauty. With this in mind she treated her cruel and more like a slave than a daughter. Selene knew of this hatred and dealt with it the only way she could. She kept it to herself. Her father didn’t believe her because when he was around he saw the woman he fell in love with, not the woman she had become.

Her mother was in the throne room when Selene reached her.

“Honey can you go get me a glass of milk? I would but I am queen and I need to save my precious energy. That and I just had a manicure.” She said holding her hands out in front of her.

“Yes mother.” Selene replied weakly

“What was that young lady!?” She yelled

“Yes your royal highness and ruler of me and this entire planet in which I walk upon.”

“That’s better. Now hurry!”

Selene ran off into the shadows of the pantry.

“Evil woman. I hate her.” She said with a sneer

She took a glass from the cabinet and then replaced it. She remembered what happened last time she brought her mother a drink in an ordinary glass. She threw the glass to the ground then commanded that Selene clean it up and fetch her a glass fit for a queen. She grabbed a golden gem encrusted goblet and filled it with milk. She then hurried back to her mother in the throne room.

“Huh? What do you want? Oh. Now I remember. Never mind about the milk I’m not thirsty anymore. Now leave me alone. Your presence is sickening me.” She shooed her off then resumed staring in the mirror she was looking in when Selene arrived.

Selene ran to her room in tears. She couldn’t understand how such a wonderful woman in all the stories and tales could be so cruel to her own flesh and blood.

“You’ll never amount to anything. Let your true hate come out.” A voice said.

“Who’s there? She said looking around the room. “Show yourself!” The voice just responded with a chuckle.

“SELENE!” Her mother called again. She didn’t hesitate this time. She just ran.

“I almost forgot. You better change your… ways or you’ll never be queen of this castle. Don’t forget you’ll never be the woman I am. So you’ll just have to work extra hard.” Selene’s mother said snottily

With that Selene ran crying into the courtyard where her father was sitting. She sobbed to him and told him the whole agonizing story. How her mother complained about the milk and put her down.

“It’s OK. She doesn’t mean it. She’s probably just tiered. Being queen is a hard job you know.” And with that he got up and left.

She began to sob again. She was actually beginning to believe what her mother had said about her when suddenly

“She’s right you know. Let your hate rule and you can change all of this. Come with me and I’ll show you how.” Said the same voice she had heard earlier. With a flash of light and a poof of smoke she was gone. She reappeared in a dark, small room. There was a shadow in the corner, it spoke to her and said

“Finally you gave into my trap. Now I will show you true evil. You are evil Selene and you know it. You can feel it surging through your veins! And even at times I sense you feel they are going to burst. Yet you fight it! You fight your true self instead of accepting it. You make me sick. And the sad thing is you are twice the woman your mother is you just can’t access that part of you because it is your evil half. Give up. There is no use fighting. Your evil part will prevail!”

“Show yourself!” Selene commanded.

“Already giving instructions?” the woman chuckled.

“Show yourself now. And explain what you want with me!”

The woman stepped into the light.

“Why you look like my mother!” Selene gasped in shock. This woman looked as is she was her mother’s twin. With long flowing red hair pulled back into a ponytail. Thin and beautiful. She was wearing a short skirt and a tight top with long strings attaching it to a metal choker. (They were also red) If she would let her hair down and put on her mother’s gown it would be hard to tell the difference. Except the eyes. Even though her mother was vain she had soft, gentle, kind eyes. This woman’s eyes were pure evil. She walked over to Selene grabbing her face lightly.

“Gorgeous.” She said “No wonder why your mother hated you.” She then slapped Selene so hard she fell to the ground. “Foolish woman! While she fought for good I strived for evil. It wasn’t the defeat that made me hurt, it was the fact that she took him form me when he was his weakest! From me! But no matter now I have you! Stupid sister! I will have my revenge!”

“Sister” she thought in amazement. “So that’s why they look so much alike! No wonder!”

“But I am of no use to you” she said rising “for I am good!”

“No your not. And you know it! Let go and we will take what is hers and rule the world together!”

“NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” Selene screamed for it felt as if her heart was being torn from her chest.

“Yes! It’s working!” The evil woman laughed.

Selene’s eyes went black and she lost consciousness. Her pure good was torn from her body in a crystallized form leaving only hate and evil. She grasped the crystal and stared at it for a moment. The evil woman (whose name is still not known) looks at her in astonishment.

“What is she doing!? If she puts that back in her it’ll never work!”

Selene sat spell bound by the crystal. Then her empty, expression-less face went evil. She got angry and crushed the crystal in the palm of her hand. She wanted nothing more to do with good anymore. She was now Selene empress of evil and would stop at nothing to destroy what her mother had and had deprived her of. All that was left of her, the real her, was a pile of silver dust.

“Yes! Yes! Be evil! It worked!” she began to laugh hysterically.

Selene finally came to consciousness again. She felt her head. She was wearing the traditional odango style.

“Ewwwwww… what is wrong with my hair?” she tore out the butterflies that held her hair up with a rip. She shook her head violently until it fell to her rear.

“Much better” she thought. Then all of her attention turned to the evil lady who had done this to her. “What is your name?” She asked.

“My name is Jisushika-sama, but you will be known as my daughter now and heir to our evil kingdom so you may call me mother. You are evil! Pure evil! The perfect production of your father and my one true love!”

“You want evil? You got it!” and with that she sent a blast out of her hands that sent Jisushika slamming into the wall across the room and pinned her to it. The blast didn’t stop there, she then sent another blast through the first one making the woman die on contact. She slid down the wall into a lifeless lump on the floor.

“I have no mother” said Selene to the lump. “Remember that you lifeless moron.” She kicked the lump. Looking down at her clothes she said “Yuck! What am I wearing?! Well since Jisushika is dead I don’t think she’ll be needing any clothes soon so I’ll help myself to her closet!” she chuckled and walked off to find the bedroom.

She got there and walked over to the closet and began pulling out dresses and placing them up against her body in front of the mirror. She threw one to the ground and took out another.

“This woman had no taste!” she cried with a groan.

She then approached a giant dresser and opened the bottom of it. She pulled out a piece of cloth, which turned out to be a incredibly horrible looking skirt.

“Gross!!” she yelled and shoved it back where it came from.

Leaving the dresser open she headed across the room to a cabinet she saw. She opened it and found a beautiful dress. It was long, black and red with gold lace trim. Next to it was a scepter in which had powers she could rely on if hers got weak.

“Fit for a queen” she thought with a chuckle. She began to undress and had her dress to her shoulder when she heard a voice. A male voice.

“Jisushika-Sama are you there?” he said and walked into the room. “Oh! I’m sorry! I didn’t know anyone was here! Can you tell me where Jisushika is?”

“Dead… I killed her.” She replied and got redressed. “So can I help you?” she asked. “Well I came here searching for the world renowned evil Jisushika-Sama, but since she is dead I will never be able to conquer this world.”

“I’ll help you. I’m more powerful than that dead witch will ever be. Which is obvious because I killed her so quickly and that was while I was still weak.”

“Than I am at your service my queen” and with that he got on his knee and kissed her hand as if she was true royalty.

“I could get used to this” she grinned

ONE HOUR LATER

Selene sat high in Jisushika’s throne and Areku her newfound love bowed at her feet.

“Dear Areku-Chan, go out and fetch 100 of your best troops and bring them back here to battle in an hour. We have to prepare for the fight of the century and I must not lose.”

“Yes my queen” he said and kissed her hand. Then he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

“Now what am I going to do for the next hour?” Selene sighed.

ONE HOUR LATER

“Welcome to my palace fine soldiers. I am your queen and advisory from now on. Whatever I say goes. If you dare disagree with me or try to rebel… well let’s not think of that. Shall we move on?”

“No.” Said a voice from the back. “What’s gonna happen? You gonna zap me with your super powers? Oooo I’m scared.” The man grunted in disapproval.

“Who said that?” Selene shouted in disbelief. “Step forward fool!”

A tall thin man stepped forward dressed in his soldiers’ uniform. He wore black pants and a white shirt un-tucked. He stood facing the queen unafraid.

“So whadda you gonna do?” He asked

Selene raised her scepter right at the man’s head. It sent out a purple beam and hit him in the center of his forehead, but the blast was so powerful it put a hole in the wall 20 feet away. The instant the scepter was deactivated the man fell to the floor twitching every now and then.

“Let this be a lesson to all who dare go against me!” She shouted, “Now we will move on and will somebody please get this mess cleaned up? I will no longer have this man in my presence. He sickens me!”

“Selene?!” yelled Kitsuchi. When she got no answer she got agitated and yelled louder “Selene!!!” No reply. “SELENE!!” she screamed at the top of her lungs “SELENE!! GET OVER HERE NOW! DON’T YOU DARE IGNORE ME!”

“What’s all the screaming about?” Asked Chimofu as he walked in. Chimofu was Selene’s father and he was a tall thin man. He had white hair, not from age but that was the color of all the men’s hair in his race for he was not human. His ears came to a point like humans, but everything else on him looked normal.

“It’s that insolent little brat Selene she won’t answer me when I call! I think she hates me. She wants me to get all old and wrinkled from all the stress she causes me and wants me to become an ugly old hag.” She began to force a sob.

“Oh save it Kitsuchi-Chan. I know your fake sobs!”

“Fake! Who said they were fake!” She yelled

“I fear she may be missing. I haven’t seen her all day. I’m beginning to get worried.” He said. Kitsuchi wasn’t listening she was still mad about the fake sobs comment. “I will go up to tell the palace guard to sound the alarm and start a search party. I just hope she’s all right.”

“No dear let me.” She said with an odd smile. She began to stand up but Chimofu shoved her back into the throne before she could object to it.

“I don’t trust you.”

“What!? Why?!”

“Let me just ask you this. When did you begin to hate her? How can you be so cruel to your own flesh and blood? At first I didn’t believe what she told me. You hating her and all, but after seeing that smile on your face I knew inside and out you would like nothing better to see her dead…” he said cruelly.

“Nonsense” she began but he cut her off.

“LIAR!” he screamed in her face. “You hate her and all she ever tries to do is please you, but it is never good enough is it? Is it?!!”

“Your right” she began to cry “I do hate her! And do you know why? Because she is everything I ever was and more! She’s more beautiful, more strong-willed, and a better queen than I would and could ever be! I hate her and I do wish her dead! Do you hear me?! I do want her dead!!” She screamed between sobs. These sobs were no longer fake though, these were true.

“Get out of my face Kitsuchi. You sicken me.” And with that he stormed off to go start a search party and search for his daughter in the last place he had seen her. The courtyard.

“Let’s go troops! Bring me my carriage! Now and hurry!!” Yelled Selene. 3 soldiers pulled up an extravagant coach and Selene stepped into it with Areku-Chan at her side. “Now lets go!” With that command the troops were off heading towards the palace. The plan was to hit head on. Because the castle and the land was normally a safe place they had no need for weapons of any kind to protect the castle so Selene figured head on was the best route. Then once they reached the castle half of the 99 guards left (one dead) would go hunt down Kitsuchi and kill her. With her dead Selene figured she could get her father to change back and they could rule the world together. But she had to get Kitsuchi first. She would be easy or at least Selene thought. “She’ll probably be sitting on her butt in her stupid throne afraid to break a nail!” Selene had said. So then the rest of the guards would bind and gag Chimofu until he agreed to change. Selene chuckled with delight. This would be easy.

“There is the castle on the horizon. Shall we speed up?” Asked on of her men.

“No. Keep current pace. Now be gone and do not bother me any more. I have to save up my strength and be ready to fight to the death. Anything could happen so everyone be ready!” She rested her head on Areku’s shoulder and shut her eyes to allow her mind to drift.

Chimofu sat in the courtyard where he had last seen his daughter. The sound of approaching footsteps stirred him from a trance in which he was lost thinking of his daughter.

“Sir, I think you better see this. Troops are approaching on the horizon and they seem to be in a battle formation. Along with that they seem to be heading at a relatively fast speed without slowing. We need you on deck to make decisions.” A solider said. Chimofu nodded and rose from his spot.

“Here we go.” Selene sighed. “Areku, wait for me to give the commands. I have to show them that I am in charge.” He nodded.

“That’s undoubtedly Selene, but I feel that she is stronger some how and not herself. She has an aura of death around her. She’s more…” he stopped to think “evil, some how. Prepare to attack, this may be a fight to the death.”

“Wait!” A female voice yelled. All turned to find Kitsuchi, standing. “I put my little girl in this situation and I plan to save her from it.” She pulled out a scepter “I used this scepter to save you, Chimofu, and I plan on using to save her too. Celestial Planet Power!” She yelled and transformed into the Celestial solider. Standing by her husband they faced the oncoming brigade and prepared to fight together once more.

“Charge!!” yelled Selene and the selected group of men charged the castle ransacking it, killing all who stood in their way. The rest set out to find Chimofu who was patiently waiting for them. Selene’s troops easily overpowered the castles and took charge. Kitsuchi hid.

Selene stepped out of the coach surprising her mother from behind by yanking on her ponytail. The woman turned in a blaze of anger and backed away from the woman who had once been her daughter.

“Hello Mommy.” Selene said with a grin. “It’s me, your baby girl Selene.” Kitsuchi shook her head in disgust. “Don’t you recognize me? No you wouldn’t. You always hated me and guess what, I’m here to fight back.” Troops shoved Chimofu towards Selene. “Mommy, I’d like you to meet someone. Areku-Chan?” A tall thin man stepped out of the carriage. He peered around the bright lit cement lain courtyard and looked towards the ivy covered walls. His gaze then turned to Selene and a smile covered his face. They embraced in a long kiss.

When they broke away from each other a man took her attention. It was her father, standing bound and gagged before her. Never had he seemed so week, so pathetic and for a moment, the girl felt sorrow. Shaking off her mortal feelings she spoke to her father.

“Hello Daddy.”

“Selene.” He said removing his gag.

“Why aren’t you smiling Daddy? Aren’t you glad to finally have me out of your life? I was always a thorn in you and Mommy’s side am I correct?”

“Don’t talk of such things. You know Selene that is not true.”

“Liar!” She screamed “You and Mommy expressed yourselves perfectly clear. You wanted nothing to do with me.” She calmed down again and grinned. She turned to her mother, grasping her scepter tightly. “Goodbye Mommy.” She said and pointed her scepter at her mother and shot a blast, the same type that had killed the man who had dared challenge her authority. Kitsuchi ducked just in time to miss the blast and counter attacked.

The blast shot past Selene and she grinned for only a second. When she finally realized what her mother had just done her smile turned to a sneer and she spun around to see the blast hit Areku and saw him take his last breath before he collapsed onto the ground.

“NOOOOOO!!! Areku!!!!!” she screamed and ran over to catch his fall. With his head resting in her lap he grinned and spoke one last time.

“Together we will meet in heaven and rule the afterlife together. Goodbye my love.” His eyes rolled back and he turned limp. Never in her life had Selene felt such pain as she did now. Seeing her love die in her arms shook her with sadness and she began to tremble and sob. Sadness grew within and she cried harder than she had ever before. Then sadness turned to rage and she rose in a white-hot ball of fury.

“You killed him. The first person who ever truly loved me for me you killed. DIE!” Selene shot another blast from her hands, similar to the one that had killed Jisushika. The difference was this one was powered by rage. It threw Kitsuchi against one of he walls and pinned her to it permanently, causing the wall to crack around the woman. Then the second blast came. A larger ball of energy shot through the first throwing the guards off balance and toppling over. In all the confusion they killed each other, spreading blood and tears across the ashen ground. The blast was so strong the wall toppled. Selene’s mother died on impact and shook violently as the waves of immense energy pulsed through her dead, limp body. When the blast had stopped and the smoke had cleared, Kitsuchi lay in a pile and was still steaming from the impact. Her eyes were gone and had exploded from the effect. She was burned beyond recognition. Chimofu stood stunned and in a daze.

“God forgive me for what I must do. Many tears and blood have been shed today, but none will amount to the ones I have and will shed. Goodbye daughter. Chimofu shot a blast from his hands that killed Selene on impact and sent her to the ground in a bloody daze. Seeing his baby girl take her last breath and die by his hand shook him furiously and he crouched to the ground crying, wrestling with his emotions, trying to get control of himself, but he couldn’t.

A fierce wind blew through the trees surrounding the battleground. Over the horizon a swarm of butterflies could be seen. The sound of many wings flapping overpowered the sound of the wind and had an odd calmness to it. The moved as one machine and swooped down engulfing the poor confuse girl in a rainbow of colors. When they lifted Selene was gone and no trace of her could be found.

Legend has it that when she died her soul lifted with the butterflies, transforming into an angel like butterfly and flew away to the heavens above to be with her one true love for eternity and beyond.

The End
