Amelia's song for Zelgadis



When you feel all alone,
 and the world has turned it's back on you,

	Amelia sat across the table from Zelgadis.  Lina and Gourry had already
 eaten all of their dinner and decided to check out the rooms.  So, her and Zel
 were the only ones left.  The group had decided to eat so late that noone was
 in the tavern.   It was so quiet that you could almost hear the beat of the other 
persons heart. 
	Amelia sneaked a glance at Zelgadis, who in turn felt her eyes on him 
and glared up at her.
	Amelia froze in those beautiful crystaline blue eyes.

give me a moment please
to tame your wild wild heart,

	"Stop staring at me, Amelia. I don't like it." he growled coldly at her.
	"sorry.." she whispered.
	"Sometimes I think you do it just to annoy me." he didn't even realize 
that it came out.
	Amelia's head snapped up, her eyes wide with shock.  How could he 
be so cruel?  She wasn't doing it on purpose....she couldn't help it.  She loved 
him...and she knew she did.

like the walls are closing in on you,

	Zelgadis didn't even apologize.  He figured she would figure it out that 
he had not meant to say it aloud.  At least that's what he thought until the 
slamming of an empty plate down on the table startled him.
	He glanced up to meet Amelia's eyes, full of fury.  She was standing 
up with her palms on the table, leaning in to glare at him.  She couldn't hold it 
in anymore.  She had to cry, but she couldn't do it in front of him, lest she wanted 
to be insulted again.
	She huffed angrily, growling in the back of her throat and stomped quickly
 out of the inn inro the cold night air.
	Zel immediatly placed his mug down, stood and followed her quietly, not
 letting her know he was behind her.  She would hate him if she knew he was 
following her because he did't trust her jugement and that night was dangerous
 to be out alone.  So, placing a concealment spell on himself, Zelgadis stepped
 in line behind the weeping princess.

it's hard to find relief,
and people can be so cold,

	It was obvious that fall was in the air from the cool wind that swept the
 land as well as  the browning leaves.
	He followed Amelia up onto a tall hill that overlooked the town and stood
 hovering over her as she layed down on the ground.  She sighed and glanced 
back at the tavern.
	"Stubborn jerk." she whispered. 
	Zelgadis took care not to speak.
	Amelia threw her hands over her head. "Why do I have to feel this way?
  If this is meaning of being lonely? Do I have to live like this forever? Gods, why
 do I have to love him?" she began to sob.
	Zel's heart caught in his throat. 'She loves me?'
	Tears streaked down her cheeks as her chest heaved with every sob. 
Zelgadis began to hurt inside.  Amelia's head tossed as she cried harder and harder. 

when darkess is apon your door
and you feel like you can't take anymore

	Amelia gasped as strong arms lifted her up and pulled her close against
 a chest.
Zelgadis' form emerged from invisibility, holding her closely and rocking her.  
Amelia was shocked
to say the least.  She fought free of his hold and began to run. Zelgadis was 
determined to calm her
down.  He chased after her then caught her and took an immediate Ray Wing
 into the air.  Amelia was helpless.  She tossed her head back and cried out 
aloud, but they were too far up in the clouds to be heard.  Zelgadis stopped just 
above the clouds and sat down on one....floating on it still in Ray Wing.
	Amelia tossed and struggled.
	"Amelia! Amelia, calm down! It's ok!"
	"NO! NO IT'S NOT!" she screamed. "it's not......it's no-....it's...." she 
sobbed and let her head hang.
	"Yes.  Yes, it is." he said pulling her to his chest.  Amelia wrapped her
 arms around his back."It is. It's ok."

"Why do you hate me?" she sobbed.
	"Amelia! I don't hate you! I don't. Please, just don't cry." he hushed her
, stroking her hair soothingly.
	"All I ever wanted is for you to be nice to me....I just wanted someone.
  Anyone.. but I wanted you the most.  I just wanted you to care, to love me like
 I love you.  I am so lonely.  I don't think I can stand it anymore, Zelgadis....I don't
 think I can stand it." she sighed against him, feeling as if she wanted to die right
 then.  She was so close to him, yet, the closer she got, the more the reality that
 she couldn't have him grew.  It hurt worse when he was close. And when he 
hugged her,
her heart tore.

"I do care. I do.  I....I just....don't know how...to show it." he whispered.
	"Just hold me like this.  Just be here, because I know tomorrow you will
 act like nothing happened and you will go back to ignoring me again.  You will
 just forget about everything, so just hold me now.  Before it ends like it always
 does..." she whispered.
	'Am I that cold?' Zelgadis thought. 'Am I really that horrible that she 
expects me to forget it? Gods, what have I done to her.'
	"No, Amelia. I won't. I won't forget and I won't ignore you ever again. I 
promise."he said into her ear.
	
	when you feel all alone
and a loyal friend is hard to find,
	
'Am I that cold?' Zelgadis thought. 'Am I really that horrible that she 
expects me to forget it? Gods, what have I done to her.'
	"No, Amelia. I won't. I won't forget and I won't ignore you ever again. I 
promise."he said into her ear.
	
your caught in a one-way street
with the monsters in your head,

She broke off trying to laugh. "Zelgadis, your promises are worth about
 as much as that ale down there." she looked away shaking her head.
	'Wow, that's bad....considering the ale was worth crap.' Zel thought sadly
  His heart hurt worse now.  How could he make it better.  He had never had any
one love him before....he didn't know how to make someone feel alot better.  He
 closed his eyes and looked inside himself for the answers.  Did he love her too?
  He had never really thought about it.


when hopes and dreams are far away
and you feel like you can't face the day

Zelgadis couldn't imagine seeing a day without her smile.  Without hearing her
 voice or her laugh.  He could see Lina and Gourry gone for a few days, but 
not Amelia.  Without her it was...... it was............empty.   Zelgadis sighed.
  Gods, he couldn't even imagine, let alone want to bear a day without her.  
Yes, he thought.  I do love her.

Zelgadis looked out of the corner of his eye at the black hair that 
rested on his shoulder.  It was so warm.  Her arms wrapped around his back,
 her head softly on his shoulder.  Her breathing echoed throughout his body.
  It hummed with a deep liquid vibration that he had never felt before.  He felt
 wonderful when she was in his arms.  HIS arms.  He could feel her soft skin
 through the thin material of the back of her shirt.  His heart felt warm now.....
full, ready to burst.  He couldn't believe that all of this was happening to him.

What was he supposed to do next.  He had to tell her but how.....they had hugged,
 but never kissed or anything---  a kiss.
	A smile spread across Zelgadis' face as he tightened his grip on Amelia,
 pulling her fuller into him.  
	Amelia sighed, happy at how familiar he was being with her tonight.  
	Carefully, Zel pulled her away and cupped her chin in his hand, lifting 
her face up to look into his eyes.  He smied at her and bend forward, pressing 
his lips to hers.

Amelia was shocked to say the least.  Zelgadis's lips against hers felt amazing.
  A bolt of lightenting went surging down her spine when he kissed her.  But there
 was no way she was going to protest....no way in hell.  In face, she thought....
maybe I should-
	Amelia wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him into the kiss
 even more.

'BINGO' he thought and smiled between their lips as she urged him to
 deepen it.  Zel gladly complied and tightened his grip on her waist, pressing his
 lips to her harder.  Bolder now, Zel decided to try something different.  He pressed
 his tongue to her lips and Amelia, though a bit startled, opened her lips, letting 
Zel's tongue slip it's way in.  He sought for a moment at her tongue.

Once he found it, he wrapped his around it and teased it. Amelia sighed and
 moaned, breathing loudly.  Gods, he was kissing her! Zelgadis was kissing 
her! Zelgadis, the man she loved was kissing her, Amelia....  She couldn't stop 
telling herself, still trying to convince herself it was real.  
	Zelgadis pulled his tongue away, much to Amelia's dissapointment and
 ended the kiss lightly.

 Zelgadis looked at her.  Her head was moving around 
dizzily a little and her eyes were still closed.
	"Amelia, are you ok?" he asked concerned.
	Amelia opened her eyes and smiled. "I don't know...I feel kinda dizzy
....lightheaded. I don't think I can stand anymore."
	Zelgadis laughed lightly. "Amelia, were in the air."
	Amelia looked down then back at him and laughed."Oh. Ok...heehee"

Zelgadis slowly lowered them from Ray Wing, sitting their feet back down on 
to the ground.  Amelia immediatly buckled.  
	Zelgadis caught her and swung her up gently into his arms, carrying 
her back towards the inn.

Lina had come back to find her friends and was stunned when they completely 
ignored her hello, just smiling at each other as he continued to carry her to his 
room.  Lina was especially in shock when he shut the door in her face.

	"Wait, didn't he just have Amelia in his arms, what is he-" 
	Lina was abruptly cut off by a loud moan from Amelia from inside the
 room to which she just let it be and walked back to the tavern for a drink.
