Title: Missing
Chapter Title: Cast me Aside
Rating: Pg-13 to R (angst, language, ect.)

Disclaimer: I realized that I forgot to do this before, so im doing it now. I don't
own anything in these stories but my own imagination and their emotional reactions,
thats...it. Evanescence and the gorgeous Amy Lee owns the songs 'Missing'and
'Breathe No More' where the words in Ginny's letter and this fic came from.
Thanks! Thanks to everyone that has reviewd so far, I mean DAMN lol. I appreciate
them all even though ff.net has SCREWED up my stupid story by freaking out with the
text.

Lost Pendragon : I KNOW! Isn't it just freakin messed up!! Arg! That's what I get
for not putting this up on a webpage and loading that onto here. I used notepad
cause it was 4 am and I was lazy and they double spaced the stupid thing for me! I
was so mad, I tried to fix it and it wouldn't work >.< Plebs, damn them. I'm going
to try and put the second up on a webpage first to fix it and if that doesn't work,
ff.net is going to have a bone thrown at them.

Reader: Thankies! This is probably the fastest I've EVER updated a story cause I
have the song playing over and over again to influence me. I hope you like the
second part!

diatrif: Thanks as well! I tried to capture her emotions the way I felt them and it
worked out nearly perfect except the double spacing. >,<. Oh well. lol Hope you
also enjoy this!

Isis's Rose: *Hands you tissues* Thank you so much, i'd say im sorry i made you
cry, but that's what happened when i wrote it o_O. lol The song made me cry.

C: Again, thank you so very much. I appreciate all your comments. Most people get
pissed I write angst, but its a very real topic. And your right, when people are at
their worst, it seems thats when others turn away. But Don't worry, Im hoping it
will get better. lol im kinda going on whatever pops in my mind. I believe I have
through chappie three figured out.

THANKS EVERYONE for reviewing! I appreciate it more than you know!

Warning: This fic DOES contain extremeish angst. If you dont' like angst,
suffering, alot of crying, sobbing, anger and generally bad feelings, then don't
read this, but for those brave souls, do continue. I will warn you this gets worse
before it gets better though, Ginny's not close to well yet. Some if not all of
these characters may be OOc so don't get pissed cause i just told you they do lol.
Enjoy the story! And keep reviewing and hounding my arse so i'll write more!! Also,
you'll have to forgive any misspellings or grammar errors as well as spacing
errors, its 4 am and ff.net is a butt to me sometimes.

Draco sighed and leaned back in his seat with a groan. She'd fallen asleep
an hour ago in that same position, her knees gather to her, her head resting on
them, looking out the large windows with an empty stare. He'd noticed her go limp
and her breathing deepen. He'd watched her sleep for nearly ten minutes before he
moved her body gently, laying her down on the bed. Her red hair fell in a soft halo
around her face, her eyes still red and puffy, her lips swollen, tear tracks still
tracing down her cheeks and mouth. Her eyes were clenched slightly tighter than
should be in her sleep, her pain still obvious in the darkened comfort of rest.
Draco's mind kept roaming over the letter. There was no opening, no
closing, no to or from, but it was obvious now that she didn't care any longer who
found the letter or if they found it at all. If they found her at all. His mind
whirled over the poetic phrases, 'isn't someone missing me'; 'You forgot me long
ago'; 'Even though im the sacrifice..'; 'Though I'd die to know you love me'.
His eyes moved back to Ginny's hand, that of which he'd held for so long
that afternoon. Had she really been that lost in a family that big? He'd always
been an only child, unable to understand how she could be forgotten. His father
never left him alone for anything, always questioning him, even it if wasn't out of
love, at least he had attention. Pansy had mentioned that Ginny was feeling what
she herself had gone through with her parents. Draco knew for a fact that Pansy's
parents couldn't care less what their daughter did as long as it didnt' take their
attention away from their own lives. And Pansy had gotten over the fact long ago,
having lived with the fact for most of her life, but this girl...he'd seen her with
her mother at the beginning of his first year, holding her hand; happy. But what
had happened after that? She'd been there again at the beginning of the second
year, the year that the 'great Potter' defeated Tom Riddle and the basalisk killing
muggleborns. The year he 'saved the poor little Weasley from...'.
Draco paused and frowned, his mind slowing to a hault on that one topic.
That's right. She had been the one in the chamber with Tom Riddle. She had been the
one to open the chamber and set the snake loose on the students. His eyes shut for
a moment. "Even though I'm the sacrifice, you won't try for me, not now." he
whispered the phrase again. The sacrifice?....the sacrifice....
	Draco looked up. "Dear Gods."
	The SACRIFICE.
His eyes flew to her again. What had happened in the chamber? Since then,
he'd not seen her with anyone other than Harry and his little troupe, following
behind them, her head down. None of the other girls sat or talked with her that he
remembered. In fact....she'd been forced to pair with some people when her brother
and that know-it-all both turned to partner up with Potter in rare classes that
they shared. What had been done to make her pull away, surely Dumbledore or a
teacher, or surely her brother had asked her what had happened...had found out.
Surely someone knew something about her....
	Surely someone bothered to ask...
That thought disturbed Draco deeply. If noone had asked her what had
happened down there to her, if noone had bothered to care if she was alright while
they all gathered around Harry to cheer him on...
Draco moved to sit on the bed beside her, his hand finding a gentle path
through her hair. Someone had to know and he was going to find out.
Standing up swiftly, but quietly, Draco made his way and nodded to Madam
Pomfry that he was leaving for a while. He swore as he exited determined to find
the Gryffindorks he needed to talk to, he heard her mutter 'Finally.' and sigh.

"Weasley!" Draco shouted, his head high as he sped across the open yards
towards the five people gathered sitting there, talking.
Weasley stood quickly, his face darkening in anger. "What do you want
Malfoy? Come to taunt me about my sister? Cause if you think a weasel like you can
sink any lower than-"
"Oh, shut the bloody hell up already!" Draco shouted, coming to a stop in
front of the group, his fists clenched. His eyes moved around the group, assessing
their reactions to him. Ron, of course was defensive and angry, Fred and George
looked wairy and ready to stand and fight with their little brother. Potter looked
suspicious and untrusting and Granger looked concerned, confused and slightly
aggitated. "I have a question and I bloody well could care less if you like me or
not, but I need an answer." he growled.
At this both Harry and Hermione stood, Hermione shuffling on her feet. "
What is it Malfoy?" she asked, slight exasperation in her tone.
He paused and looked over the group, suddenly feeling that he wouldnt' put
it past them to completely forget the girl in the hospital wing. He could see her
in his mind's eyes sitting down a few feet away on a nearby bench, in the
background, ignored and forgotten as they all left without her, a tear leaving her
face and his courage rose again.
"What happened to her down there?" he said quickly and forcefully.
Confusion etched over all of their faces.
"Huh?" he heard Harry say, a few muttered "What's he talking about?" going
around.
He couldnt' believe the density surrounding him lately.
"In the CHAMBER, Potter." he growled then turned to weasley when Potter
failed to do anything but open and shut his mouth a few times. "Weasley?" he paused
at the same reaction then turned to the girl. "Granger?"
Draco waited for nearly a moment before he watched them all search for the
answer, the twins in total confusion behind them, whispering back and forth.
"Noone? Didn't ANY of you dunderheads bother to ask? Didn't she tell anyone
here what happened down there? Anyone at all? Come on Weasley, "He turned back to
Ron, "Surely she told your mum and dad...you?" he prodded.
Ron's eyes were blank. "What...happened in the Chamber? You mean..in second
year...when Harry killed the-"
"Yes yes, when the great Potter defeated the Basalisk and all that bull."
he earned a few glares from them all then. "But what happened to her before Potter
got there? What happened to her?" again blank faces. "Didn't anyone ask her?
Noone??!" he nearly roared as they all suddenly looked guilty. Ron frowned.
"She...she never said anything, we didn't think-"
"Damn right you didn't think you dung for brains!" Draco growled again. "
Never even bothered to see if your own sister was alright, did you? Just ran off to
cheer for the great victory of Potter." he huffed, a hand moving through his hair.
Ron's head fell as did the twins moments later.
"Oh my god." Hermione said softly. "I...I assumed someone made sure she was
ok. Didn't she go see Madam Pomfry after.."
"No." Ron said quietly. "She just went to bed, I didnt' think anything of
it." he added softly, his voice cracking.
Draco nodded in expectation. "Thought so. So noone here knows anything
about what happened to her down there."
All that met him was head shakes.
	Pathetic, he thought. Truely pathetic.
With that, Draco turned on his heel and left the group standing stunned in
the middle of the courtyard.

Pansy stood going through her closet, her hands moving the clothes swiftly.
It had taken this long just to get into her bedroom because of all the stupid first
years that apparently didn't have any clue how to not get into trouble. She'd end
up taking three to detention, two to the great hall and the rest escorted
personally to their dorm rooms, then end up chasing two out of a girl's bathroom
from a snog-fest, which she was sure first years had no business doing.
Her hands moved along the materials, pulling out peices now and again,
throwing them carefully on to her bed, things she was sure would fit the Gryffindor
girl that now lay in the Hospital wing. For the first time in what seemed forever,
she felt concern, real concern for a person other than one of her close friends.
This girl had been cast aside by an entire family, she was sure. She didn't have
all the facts yet, but hoped that Draco got something out of her eventually,
something they could go on to help her get better. She grabbed a light green night
gown from her collection. It would look good on Ginny and she'd be comfortable in
that horrid bed until she was released.

Severus Snape lay his head tiredly on his desk, his black curtain of hair
falling around him, his breathing brushing it in and out with his movements. The
day had been far too long. All he could think of was the youngest Weasley and her
condition. He could still remember the events of the day clearly in his mind...

***flashback***
Severus Snape's eyes snapped up as he heard the doors to the Great Hall
slam against the wall, watching as Pansy Parkinson, one of his Slytherin students
search the hall. Her eyes fell first on the Gryffindors, dark and angry, then she
spotted him and moved towards him quickly, around the Slytherin table and up to his
side. His eyebrows raised in suspicion as she leaned down towards him and began to
whisper into his ear hurridly.
"Sir, you need to come right now. Ginny Wealsey is going to jump off the
Astronomy Tower. Draco is up there with her, but I don't know if he can stop her."
Severus' eyes widened when she mentioned the youngest Weasley jumping from the
tallest tower and his eyes darkened. He stood quickly, catching the Headmaster's
attention as he turned his eyes to the Gryffindor table, the empty spot haunting
his mind, then grabbed Parkinson, moving her out of his way as he ran down the
short staircase and hurried past the Great Hall doors and into the hallway. He
could hear others following him as he rushed down the coridoor, nearly knocking
down a first year. "Move! Out of the way! Now!" he shouted to the group in front of
him and they fled to the sides as he barreled down the hall and to the Tower
stairs, his heart pounding, praying she hadn't done anything yet. Within seconds,
Severus Snape eclipsed from the staircase to see Draco Malfoy sprawled and
struggling on the floor by the window, his arms and shoulders hanging over and out.
"Dear Gods, she did." he gasped quietly then rushed over, grabbing Draco's body and
putting the boy up to steady him before climbing to his stomach as well and looking
over the edge. He looked down at the red head, swinging limply in Draco's hands,
the ground so very far below her. His hands reached out and grabbed onto her arm
just below where Draco held her and began to pull.
He almost let go as her eyes turned to him, puffy and red, tears making
soft tracks down her cheeks, falling the long distance to the ground below. "Dear
Gods." he said again and steadied himself against the pain her eyes, pulling her up
hard, desperate to get her into the tower again. An Instant later, another pair of
hands joined theirs, grabbing onto Ginny's shoulder and other arm as she came
farther up. He looked briefly at Pansy Parkinson, bracing herself on one knee, her
foot holding her from falling forward as she struggled to pull the girl up as well.
All three grabbed what they could of the unresisting girl as she was pulled up into
the castle. Severus unconciously let out a sigh as she fell into his arms, her head
falling against his chest, her sobs coherant, her shaking far more than obvious.
She was alright. She was alright.

***flashback***

Sighing, Severus sat back once again, steepling his fingers together and
looking over them. He'd go see her again in the morning, though for the life of
him, he still couldn't figure out why exactly he cared...but he did. Turning and
expelling out a light, he made his way to his rooms.

Ginny stood at the set of large windows, staring out of the railed panes of
glass at the sun setting around her, the beautiful hues drawing their warmth apon
her body, colder than ice. Her arms wrapped themselves up her sides to clench at
her upper arms, her hands gripping tightly, painfully at her skin. Her eyes set on
the forest out beyond her, her nails digging into her skin, puncturing into her
skin gently a smooth tiny flow of blood trickling from each moon shaped indention.
The pain didn't even register anymore, didn't matter anymore. She pursed her lips,
her eyes moving to the tray of insturments, then back to the windows. Her mouth
moved with the words flowing from her lips, soft, whispered. Only the whisp of the
breeze would be able to hear them leaving her mouth.
"Shards of me, too sharp to put back together. Too small to matter, but big
enough to cut me into so many little peices...and I bleed..."

Draco entered the Hospital wing again, his anger fierce at Ginny's friends
and family as he strode to her bed. He looked up and stopped short as he saw her,
her soft nightgown covered frame bathed in the light of the setting sun. She looked
beautiful standing there, her arms hugging herself, the soft light of yellows,
oranges and reds circling around her form like an Angel. He moved closer quietly,
to the side slightly, seeing her lips moving silently. His eyes darted down and the
scene of beauty turned to pain as he saw the small drops of blood starting to
gather on the ground, her nails embedded in her arms. Moving quickly but carefuly
to her, he stopped a scant ten feet from her. Her fingers fell from her arms and
her head dropped with a sigh for a moment before she turned her head to the side,
her eyes cast downwards, not looking directly at him. She waited a moment, her pink
lips parted silently before they moved again. "Hello, Malfoy." she said silently.
"Weasley." he answered, taking another step forward cautiously.
She hesitated, then turned towards him fully, her eyes moving up to seek
his own. Dark, cold, pained eyes met soft, cautious, concerned ones and held for
what seemed hours in silence before Draco took another step forward.
	"Why."
Draco stopped in his tracks a few feet from her and parted his lips, trying
to find the words. "I...I don't know. I guess I wanted to be here when you woke up.
You shouldn't be alone."
Her lips pursed and her eyes narrowed, finding the floor again before she
looked back up, her voice turning harsh and cracked. "Why didn't you let me fall?"
she hissed quietly at him, her eyes looking back into his, tears starting to cloud
them again in her anger.
Draco's eyes widened and he stepped forward and took her hands in his,
looking at her nails, the skin embedded under them, blood lingering along the lines
of her fingertips. Her eyes never left his face, her lips still pursed hard, her
eyes making dark lines across him. He turned her hands over, then looked back up at
her. "Because I didn't want you to die. Because someone does care." he said softly
then pulled her with him to sit on her bed. "Wait here."
Draco moved across the room and grabbed a bowl, filling it with water and
grabbing a large gauze pack from a shelf, then moving back to the bed. He set the
bowl down, then pulled a chair over, sitting down and squeezing out the water from
the gauze. He looked at Ginny and paused for a moment before taking one of her
shoulders and turning her to the side slightly, the gauze touching the four wounds
gently, patting away the blood and skin. His eyes narrowed as he took his time with
his task before placing a bandage against it until Madam Pomfry came back to heal
her. He turned her to the other side and did the same, then turned her back to him.
"You shouldn't have done that, it must have hurt..." he said quietly, taking one of
her hangs gently into his and brushing at the blood and skin starting to dry on and
under her nails. It took nearly ten minutes to clean both hands, having to redip
the water over and over again; he hadn't realized there was so much blood...
"I didn't feel it. It didn't hurt, Malfoy. Nothing hurts anymore. Nothing
compares anymore." she said steadily as he looked up into her eyes.
He placed the gauze back into the red tinted dish, then looked back up at
her, pausing for a few long moments, her hands still held in his.
"Weasley...Ginny.." he said softly and watched something in her eyes flash.
"What happened to you? What did....what did he do?"

To be Continued! Let me know if that's what you want! I love reviews, I live off of
the. Again, this is angst, if you dont like sadness and thus didn't enjoy this,
then don't read anymore. It's going to be a sad story.

Next Chapter: We learn what exactly happened to Ginny down in the Chamber as she
was missing at certain points and then for a long while in the end before Harry
came to find her. Again BIG BIG warnings of angst and pain coming! It's nowhere
near over yet kiddies.

Just another warning, these chappies probably wont come as fast as these first two, I just
need reminding as well as people poking me to get into action. lol Also, they will probably
all be this short, possibly longer, possibly shorter depending on what I can get done a
night and on what comes to my mind for those chapters.
Blessings!
