Title: Missing Chapter Title: The truth within the lies Rating: R (for angst mostly in this chappie) Disclaimer: I own Jack Squat. That’s right, I own him…but nothing else on this page. Well, ok so I own my own little imagination and the angst that comes with it, so have fun and read on kiddies if you are braves. Again the thanks will be on the bottom! ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________ Ginny stared into his eyes for nearly five minutes before opening her own lips. She took a breath, trying to will herself to speak, to tell him. Closing her eyes for a moment she turned to look out the window. "They will hate me. They all will....they all do." she whispered. "They don't want to know, they never did. If they ever knew..." she sighed softly, pain etched on her face. Draco leaned forward, moving his hand down to twine his fingers with her own, clenching them gently. "Who Ginny? And Why would they hate you? Why would they hate you for something that wasn't your fault?" Ginny's head snapped back around to look at him fiercly. "But that's what you dont understand. It WAS my fault." she hissed. "I fell right into his trap because i was so desperate for a friend. I was so weak and pathetic...I fell for him with no pretense. I didn't even suspect him Draco! He lived in a fucking BOOK and I never even thought he would be something so horrible......" she turned away again, looking at the cieling. "I should have known. I should have been stronger. And if they...if my family ever knew...they would hate me." she whispered. "My mother would never be able to look at me again...they never...they never even asked me, Draco." she said quietly, her tone sullen and sad suddenly. "They didn't want to know. They knew that if they did....they knew that if they did they couldn't have me in their family any longer." she said quietly. Draco stared at her for so long that Ginny thought he would never respond. She turned her head to look at him and was confused to see one of his eyebrows raised. "I don't know where the bloody hell you got an idea like that...." he said firmly, "but that is nowhere near the truth. Your mum, has she ever said anything like that to you before? Has she ever thought that it was your fault if you were taken before? If something happened to you?" "..no.." she whispered, tears forming in her eyes. Draco scooted closer to her, his leg brushing her own, watching her eyes. "Then why would you think that?" Ginny broke down in a sob, her head falling forward into her hands as she cried. She felt Draco's hand move to brush along her back, comforting her as she let out the years of frustration she'd held in for so long. His arms slowly went around her, pulling her into his lap as he rocked her back and forth, his head resting against her own. "It's okay." he said quietly, his breath brushing her ear. "You can cry now, it's okay." he nuzzled his cheek gently against her hair and closed his eyes, letting himself fall into her. ********** "Severus-" Severus Snape stopped and turned on his heels to see the Headmaster walking towards him. He stopped a few feet from him, his eyes darkened. "How is she?" Severus asked him after a few moments of silence passed between the two. "She will....recover. But I fear it will take the help and guidance of those around her to bring her back to a sense of normalcy." he shook his head sadly. Dumbledore placed his hand on Severus' shoulder, looking over his half-moon spectacles at the younger man. "She will need your help, Severus." Severus' face pulled into a hard frown. "I don't understand how you think I could help her. I barely know anything about the girl save the fact that she is a Weasley and apparently suicidal." he said softly, crossing his arms over his chest. Dumbledore took Severus' upper arm and pulled him along to a side cooridor, a darkened corner where they could not be heard should any passing students walk by. "Miss Weasley has gone through much these past few years. It has just recently come to my attention as to what exactly had occured in her life. I feel that it is prudent that she tell you herself as it is not my place, but Severus...you must be careful with the questions you ask. Bringing too much back into her mind at a time could push her right back to the very edge she'd just been pulled from." he said softly. "Mr. Malfoy has been with her since yesterday and has not left her side. I feel that this is the real reason that has kept her from doing anything else to harm herself. Indeed, if he had not been there, had not come to find her, I fear that we would not have a Miss Weasley at all." Dumbeldore said softly. Severus shook his head, absorbing the information quietly as Dumbledore once again laid a hand apon his shoulder, turning to leave. "Remember my boy, she is very fragile, you must be careful what you say and do around her now. The smallest thing could influence her regression." he said softly. "But I have faith in you. And in Mr. Malfoy and Miss Parkinson. I believe that with your help, we may just bring Miss Weasley back." he smiled gently and turned, walking down the path and away from Severus. Severus Snape stood in that dark cooridor for nearly twenty minutes before he moved again, letting his arms hang limply by his side as he made his way to the Hospital Wing, determined. ******** Draco looked up from his position with Ginny sleeping in his lap as someone knocked at the door, then entered. He saw Pansy make a brief conversation with Madam Pomfrey, which ended in a nodding between both parties, then she made her way over to them. Pansy gave him a small smile and took a seat on the end of the bed, her hand moving up to stroke Ginny's crimson hair as the girl slept soundly against him. "How is she?" she asked quietly, her eyes looking the girl over. "She's alright now. She fell asleep about twenty minutes ago and I just don't have the heart to put her down." Draco murmered, looking down at her. Pansy smiled. "Don't have the heart? Or don't have the will?" Draco looked up at her and tried to frown, but could only smile and pull the sleeping girl in closer to his body. Pansy suddenly frowned, her hand slipping from Ginny's hair to her hand wresting at Draco's waist and lifted the arm gently, moving off the bed to kneel beside them. "What happened?" she gasped, running a finger over the bandages around Ginny's wrists. Turning his head downward, Draco frowned, his face turning sad. "She tried to kill herself again. TOok Madam Pomfrey's bandage knife and tried to cut her wrists open. Nearly did it too until I caught her." "Oh my god..." she sighed. "I had no idea....Draco..." she looked up at him and moved to sit on the chair across from the bed, pulling it closer silently. "Draco..what happened to her? What set her off like this? Did she tell you anything?" Draco gently moved Ginny, laying her on her side on the bed, watching her curl against his hip, her face buried in the pillow before he stroked her hair, then stood, motioning with one finger for Pansy to follow him. He led her to the front of the Hospital Wing where he could keep an eye on Ginny and still talk to her. Once they stopped, he sighed and ran a hand roughly through his hair, his eyes darknening before he looked her in the eyes. "There is something you should know. She trusted me to tell her and i'm trusting that you will tell noone." Pansy nodded immediatly, fervently. "Do you remember in our second year? What happened with the Chamber of Secrets?" he said quietly. At her nod, he opened his mouth again to begin the story. "Mr. Malfoy, Ms. Parkinson." Both turned to see Professor Snape, arms crossed standing in the doorway before making his way to them. "Professor." Draco nodded. "I think perhaps you should hear this too." he said quietly, nodding to the sleeping red head. Severus nodded and moved closer to keep the conversation hushed. Draco sighed again and began the tale. ******** Severus brushed his hand through his hair for what seemed the billionth time in the last hour. Draco had gone into every detail that Ginny herself had told him, told them her story, what had really happened in her first year. He told them how she felt, what happened afterwards and what she had attempted mear hours ago with the knife. Snape sighed and shook his head. "And noone ever noticed a thing?" Draco shook his head silently and Pansy wiped the single tear from her eye before it could fall and stood from her seat to go towards the bed. The two males followed her until she reached the edge of the bed and felt Snape put a hand on her shoulder as Draco sat back down beside Ginny, brushing her hair from her face. "I want to help her." Both Severus and Draco turned to look at Pansy, watching her face, determined and pained. " I want to help her. I want to make her feel better. I don't care if she's a Gryffindor, noone should be put through that." she said quietly, moving to sit beside Draco and joining his hand on Ginny's hair. Severus moved to the other side of the bed and took a seat, hesitantly stretching his own hand out before he touched her hair carefully, then brushed it along her back. "I've already made that promise too, Pans." Draco said quietly. "The minute I saw her face when she was hanging over the edge in the tower. The look of hopelessness. It hurt me just to see it. I don't ever want to see anyone....her looking like that again." Severus sighed. "We will do our best to ensure Miss Weasley's swift recovery. I believe that someone should always be with her. It is not safe to let her be alone again." Both seventh years nodded at him, all completing a silent pact to help the girl. ****** Ginny stirred, feeling warmth encircle her. Her eyes blinked open, the sunlight filtered through the tall windows of the Hospital Wing. Groaning softly, she pushed herself up onto her elbows and blinked a few times, looking around her in suprise. Draco lay in front of her, his arms wrapped around her, her head having rested on his chest. Looking down, she saw Pansy, the girl's head resting against Draco's legs, her right arm wrapped around one of Ginny's legs as she shifted in sleep, nuzzling both. She paused as she felt another breath behind her, a large hand resting on her back. Turning her head slowly, she gulped back her gasp as she saw Professor Snape. He sat reclined against the other edge of the bed, her back resting against his side, his right arm stretched over the back of the bed, his left hand resting lightly against her back comfortingly. All three of them were sleeping soudly around her, all touching her in some way. A tear ran down her face as she placed one hand on Draco's chest, the other on Pansy's hair and lay her head back against the crook of Snape's arm. Her fingers brushed lightly across Pansy's hair, absorbing the fact that all three of these Slytherin's, the people that should hate and care for her the least were now all snuggled around her comfortingly as if they belonged there. Pansy stirred under her hand and looked up, blinking through her sleep. "Ginny?" she said quietly, moving to sit up a bit. "Are you okay?" Ginny opened her mouth to reply and felt another hand on her hair, turning to see Draco smiling at her, his eyes drooped from sleep. She smiled back lightly and turned to look at Pansy again, unable to answer. The hand on her back moved also, brushing her arm. "Miss Weasley?" she heard Professor Snape's voice deep and tired. Ginny gulped and nodded lightly as Pansy took her hand, rubbing her thumb against it, Draco's stil brushing her hair and Severus still rubbing her arm. She'd never felt so warm inside before, so loved and cared for. It was all nearly too much for her as she launched herself at Pansy, wrapping her arms around the stunned girl. Pansy gasped, then began to shush her as she cried into her shoulder. Another pair of arms wrapping around her waist, Draco's head falling on her back. After another moment she felt another pair of arms wrap around all three of them, pulling them into him. Severus Snape sighed as Ginny's head fell against his shoulder, Draco's back against his side and Pansy's against the other side of his chest. The three held her as she cried, comforting her in a way she'd never thought anyone could after what he'd done. They stayed like that for nearly an hour, all comfortable just to sit together before they felt the crying girl fall into a deep sleep once again. "You think she'll be Okay?" Pansy whispered. Draco brushed his hand along her face again, smiling down at her before looking up at Pansy. "I think so. But Professor Snape is right. We shouldn't leave her along. And I have an idea how..." he said softly. ********* Ron paced back and forth for the sixth time that day. Parkinson, Malfoy and Snape were all in there, so why the hell coudln't he be?? They kept telling him he'd upset her more. He was her brother for God's sakes! He should be let in over those three Slytherin's shouldn't he!? Sighing hard again, he turned and paced the other way. He felt a hand on his arm, effectivly stopping him in his tracks and turned to glare at Hermione. "Ron, you have to stop that. It's not going to help. Look, your exhausted and Madam Pomfrey obviously isn't going to let you in anytime soon, so why don't you just go get some rest and I'll stay here. I promise to let you know if anything changes. Okay?" she said quietly, pleading with him. Ron groaned and looked again at the door. "Hermione....I.." "Please, Ron." He looked at her again, searching her eyes before nodding, conceeding and turned to walk away towards the Great hall. Hermione turned to Harry who was also sitting beside the doors. "You too, Harry. I'll let you know." she nodded and pointed in the direction Ron had left. Harry frowned, but followed her orders, turning to leave. "Thanks, Mione." he said quietly, not seeing her nod. Hermione turned and sat down in a chair outside the Hospital wing. It had been hours since they had seen or heard anything from within and Madam Pomfrey had turned them all away at the direction of Professor Snape. Sighing, she ran a hand along her face and pulled a book from her bag, opening to a random page and reading without any real concentraion. ****** Severus looked up at Draco's stomach growled loudly, making Ginny shift. He raised an eyebrow at the boy, who simply shrugged and smiled sheepishly. "I do believe, Mr. Malfoy, that your body requires food." "Yeah, im kinda hungry too..." Pansy said, turning to look at them both. Severus paused then pulled the sleeping girl closer. "I will stay with Miss Weasley. You two go and retreive food from the kitchens. I'd conjure something, but my hands seem to be...full... at the moment." he smirked lightly. "Okay." Draco sighed, brushing an hand through his hair. "We'll be back as soon as possible." he said, then moved and brushed his lips lightly against Ginny's forehead. He watched Pansy do the same, much to the amusement of Professor Snape and then walked with her towards the exit. "Malfoy." the quiet voice came from the right as he exited the Hospital Wing. Turning his head he looke d over and frowned angrily. "Granger." he replied. Turning, he nodded to Pansy to continue on without him and watched her frown before nodding back and hurring off towards the kitchens. The girls face was etched in worry as she moved towards him, her fingers twisting at the hem of her shirt. "Malfoy...what...what happened? To her." she said quietly. He took a moment to look her over before sneering. "You should have asked her that when you had the chance, Granger." he turned and moved to leave. "I didn't..I didnt' know. We thought....." she sighed sadly. Draco stopped a few feet from her, his back to her. His head turned to the side, his eyes never really looking at her. "There are some things..." he said, grabbing her attention. "That a person should never have to go through. Things that a grown man coudln't handle, let alone a little girl. There are things that leave a person scarred. Both mentally...and physically." he said quietly, watching her eyes grow wide. "Ginny knows those things with an intimacy, now. And that's what is killing her Thankfully, she now has people who actually give a damn about her. So dont bother yourself, Granger. I'm sure somewhere in those books of yours it tells you how to be a friend." he said quietly before turning and storming off, leaving the Gryffindor to hide a quiet sob. *******************TBC!!
