"One step closer to the edge"
Linkin Park
Willow goes crazy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Glass shattered on the wall as the precious hand held mirror collided
with the wall. Music blared throughout the house. Her parents had
left once again. This time for six months, leaving her alone. It
was the start of summer and already, and everyone was somewhere
doing something or someone else. Buffy and Riley had run off to
Iowa to see his family. Giles had decided to visit old England and get
reaquainted with some old friends. Xander and Anya were camped
out in their new house leaving Willow all to herself. Tara had run
off two weeks ago. Her pain and anger had built up and
now, the moment had come.
When she would break.
I cannot take this anymore
saying everything i said before
all these words they make no sense
i found bliss in ignorance
less i hear the less you say
you'll find that out anyway
Momento's from her childhood, pictures, cups, glasses, indeed, even
furniture were flying around the room. Her face scortched with
red angry tears, she rampaged around the house, busting the
table over onto it's side. Grabbing the stereo, she pulled it loose
from it's hook and tossed it as far as she could across the
room. Sparks flew as a small fire started. Her room had already
had the same treatment. All of her stuffed animals' heads had
been ripped off and her dresser tipped over. Her bed was shredded
apart from the inside out, the sheets and pillows recklessly
thrown around the room. Her computer smashed to bits, her entire
wardrobe destroyed. She had taken them out into the
yard and
with a lighter fluid for the bar-b-que and matches, set her
entire closet on fire. It was now a small bonfire out in the yard,
burning wildly near the porch. She screamed as the music got louder.
just like before
everything you say to me
(takes me one step close to the edge)
and i'm about to break
i need a little room to breath
(cause one step closer to the edge)
Spike cautiously approached the house. He could smell smoke coming
from inside of it and behind it. He heard angry screaming
and loud alternative music. He thought he recognized this house.
Who lived here? Stepping up to the window, his face registered
shock and he jumped out of the way as a wooden chair came flying at
him, out the window in the front. Walking carefully closer,
he looked again in shock as the shy little redheaded witch threw
all of her things around the room in an angry fit. She was screaming,
tears streaking her flushed face. She growled, then tipped the
couch over onto a peice of material on the table that was on fire
already. The couch quickly went up in flames and the girl screamed,
running around it, with a maniacle smile on her face and crazy
laughter/crying coming from her mouth. Jumping out the window and
near where Spike was standing, she didn't even seem to notice him
as he just stood there staring in shock at this girl who he
thought could do no harm, had just ramsacked and set her house
on fire. Quickly, the blaze overtook the skies as the dark black
smoke caressed the night sky.
and now the answers are so clear
wish i could find a way to dissapear
all these thoughts they make no sense
i found bliss in ignorance
nothing seems to go away
over and over again
Spike smelled carosine from somewehre inside the house.
Looking to his unexpected companion, he saw she was backing away.
Quickly taking her hint, he followed, quickly speeding up as
they ran from the house like mad. The smell and sound followed
them until suddenly...BOOM! Falling to the ground, Spike
scrambled backwards, looking towards the once house that was
now only a giant ball of flames and black smoke. It englulfed the
entire house before thier eyes and Spike once again
looked over
to his companion who was just registering, it seemed, what she
had just done. She watched with her mouth open as her only home
went up in flames.....and she had caused that. She
had done something.....evil.
just like before
"Bloody hell....." Spike whispered, catching the girl's
attention. Her eyes went wide, then she looked back at the house.
"I...." she paused as a tear of regret ran down her face. "I
couldn't do it anymore." she said simply as she stood and started
to walk away from him and the burning house. By now the fire
department was desperatly trying to save what little they could
of the frame, but it was a total loss. Spike stood
and ran
after her.
"Wait!" he shouted, getting her attention. She had her arms wrapped
around her waist as she looked at him in fright. But not of him
....of herself.
"What have I done?" she asked, tears rolling fat and sad down
her cheeks.
Spike stepped forward and took the unresisting girl in his arms.
"I don't know, pet. Why the bloody hell would you do something
like that?" he asked, slightly ticked that she would put herself
in danger. "Had no clue you were a pyro, luv."
She looked
at him and did her best to glare. "I'm not. I just couldn't
take it. Being alone, not cared about, everyone leaving,
everyone having someone or something better than me. I just couldn't
handle it. I....I lost it. It's been building up for so long
....." she trailed off.
"Where are you going to stay?" Spike asked, taking her by suprise.
"I....I dont' know....I.."
"You'll stay with me. Bloody hell. Can't believe I'm taking you in,
but best be warned pet. Don't go lighting any of my stuff on
fire or i'll tear your bloody heart out. You hear me?" he warned
halfheartedly.
She nodded softly.
Spike took her arm and led her softly to his crypt. He walked her
inside and sat her on the bed that Harmony had insisted he
get to be silk for her. Harm was long gone though, thankfully
and here was the now 'psycho' witch. He didn't know what posessed
him to take her home with him. He felt this need to keep her
safe and with him. He felt for her sudden insanity. He could
still hear the song pounding out into the night. Her house wasn't
far from the crypt and the stereo must not have burnt
down yet.
Interesting that the song would be the most prevelant thing out
in the night. It was so true to her situation.
shut up when i'm talking to you
shut up
shut up
shut up
shut up
shut up when i'm talking to you
He remembered the look on her face as she screamed some of the
words out in tune with the wild screamin of the band. She had
gripped the sides of her face and head, shaking it in her hands
as she screamed and shook hard. Her hair flying around her face
as she rampaged through her house. The look on her face as she
tipped over the couch or the anger that took her expression
as she thrust the chair out of the window. The words of the
song seemed to be in tune with her throwing and screaming.
She had smashed some lamps and the counter in front of him. He
had seen the refrigerator knocked over onto it's face and all the
drawers pulled out and tossed into the pile in front
of the
couch that had lit it on fire.
A sniffle from beside him caught his attention and
he looked over
at Willow just in time to see her yawning. Gently taking her
shoulders, he pushed her down onto the bed and pulled off her shoes
and socks, covering her up with the soft covers, still wondering
why he cared. He went into the bathroom and started up the shower,
climbing inside and letting the hot water pour over his body as
he scrubbed himself softly.
shut up when i'm talking to you
shut up
shut up
shut up
shut up
shut......up
I'm about to break
Turning into the spray, he ran his hands over his body, running
them around with the bar of soap. Cleaning his hair with a cheap
shampoo he had bought, he scrubbed in the lather, again his mind
flowing to the scene earlier that night. It had been less than
an hour and already he felt a connection with the girl. Much
like with Dru, he felt a need to protect and take care of her,
but differently, he knew she could do this again and she was
mentally stable and strong unlike Dru. She could take
care of
herself more, but he had no intentions of letting her. She had
nowhere to go now for the next three months until the others came
back to her life. She was utterly alone like him. He had to take
her in.
Running his hand with the soap over his chest, he sighed
unnessicarily as he turned under the spray again to let it rinse
away all the grime. Rinsing off, he stepped out of the shower
and wrapped a white towel around his waist after briefly
drying his hair with it. Walking back out into the main
room, he
found the girl already asleep. Sighing again, he walked over
to the edge of the bed and carefully knelt down, brushing her
dirty hair from her face. She would need a shower tomorrow.
And she would get one. And any food she may need. She would
get a new wardrobe and anything else she wanted. He would give
it to her. He needed to help her. It wasn't a choice anymore.
And he really couldn't mind.
everything you say to me
(takes me one step close to the edge)
and i'm about to break
i need a little room to breath
(cause one step closer to the edge)
and i'm about to....
BREAK!
Pulling on a pair of black silk boxers, as always, he moved over
to the opposite side of the bed and slid in behind her, pulling
her close to him. Hopefully she wouldn't wake up before
him. He was enjoying her warmth. She unconsiously moved toward
his cool body, seeking his comfort. Closing his eyes, Spike let
sleep take him. Tomorrow would be hell. He smiled.
The End...for now.
