Akio was known to be the one to bring the Revolution, the powerful grand champion, but was he really strong enough to defeat Utena's will? It also seemed that he would sometimes falter or sob over something....which just comes to show...he is still a soul with feelings, because he was once a person who was the saviour of the world. I feel in my opinion that Akio does love Utena in a way that nobody could really understand. I'll bet that deep inside he stll has feelings about everything that is happening because in a way he still is a soul or spirit with feelings. Most people misjudge him for a perverted, corrupted soul. The true Devil could only perhaps tempt a person, but could never completely take over what a Dios has created out of himself. (Don mind me, I confused myself saying that).

Akio's only intentions though seem to be to get the Power of the Revolution and his side of goodness back. The only problem is, he can't. It ould be impossible for a broken soul to reunite it's pieces together once more. Akio is not really the wisest person in the show, as you can tell, because during the time of when Anthy pulled the sword of Dios out of Utena he seemed completely confused and had no idea what was happening. Another time was when Utena unexpectedly opened the Rose Doors, and had tried to set Anthy free. It seems throughout my experience that Akio's knowledge is only so well that he can predict only what is quite obvious will happen. Anthy seems to be the fortune teller, for she knows everything that is going to happen.
