Basic Information About this Club

How it all started...

Jessica discovered anime. She loved it so much that she shared it with her friend Mary and with her other friends at Ursula. Mary became addicted to anime. She discovered fellow otaku at her school of Ursuline and even converted a few. Mary addicted her siblings to anime. Two of her brothers went to an all guy school. They met fellow people who liked anime there, and had them contact Mary. And so on, and so on. Bascially we were a club in everything but a name. A group of people in the same city connected by their love for anime. It was very unofficial, with people giving anime and manga to people to give to people. But, we are trying to change all that. Mary's made a lot of friends because of her anime addiction, and she knew that the people would be interested in meeting one another. They had been discussing it for quite some time. So, she got this site on angelfire, and it all took off from there.

What we do..

One of the neatest things about knowing other people who love anime is that they can buy tapes or CDs that you want, and you can borrow them or listen to them. They can even make you copies. ^_~ Bascially, we feed each others addition to anime, by introducing others to shows and mangas we love. Not everyone has enough money to purchase all of the Ranma graphic novels. But if you know someone you has them all, you can still read them. It's also nice to go on road trips and buy anime stuff together. Mary's scouted out the entire city for where to buy anime and manga, and since she can drive, she takes those who can't along with her. Parents refuse to take you to a comic book store? Mary gladly will. As long as she gets to read whatever you're buying. ^_^ We don't have official meetings. We are still to knew to do complicated things like that. Bascially, every friday night there is anime showing at UC. That's our unofficual every week meeting. But, not everyone can go every week, so it's pretty rare that we can all get together. Thankfully, we have the internet, a wonderful tool to connect with hundreds of people at once. ^_^ (no we don't have hundreds. i wish) Don't be afraid that we will raid your house and steal all your manga and animes, or make you give it up for group consumption. We recognize that people have some animes or mangas that they don't want others to touch because they hold them sacred. That's perfectly alright. Even if you don't own any manga or anime, don't be afraid to join. There are several of us who don't mind sharing our wealth. ^_^

If I became a member....

You don't have to attend any meetings, or share any anime or manga with us. (though I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't!) You can set up your own page off this one and fill it with whatever you want. This is entirely optional, but we encrouage you to do this for it helps us to get to know each other better. We don't have any membership dues or anything like that. Basically, you just say that you live in Cincinnati, love anime and want to talk to other people about it or meet other people with similar interests. It's safe too, because we can meet each other, so we know we aren't talking to middle aged men when we think its a fourteen year old girl. Even if you choose to remain annonymous, you don't have to worry about wierd people. (besides our insanity, of course! ^_^ ) Who knows? You might make a good friend, fall in love... Why not?
