Personality:
Rei, well....has a bit of an attitude problem. She is extremely shot-tempered and has very little tolerance for anything or anyone that annoys her (especially Usagi ^_^;;)! Although she has a *ahem* pescimisic disposition, Rei is also very passionate of her work, goals, and dreams. She won't let anything stand in her way... besides the occasional guy. Rei also seems to have the most hard time handling Usagi and her ditsyness but they have the strongest freindship (even though they rarely show it) but when everyone is blasted, Sailor Moon seems to always go to Rei's side rather than anyone else's.
Family:
Rei lives with her Grampa in the Hikawa Jinga (Cherry Hill Temple). Rei's dad is a polititian therefore has to do a lot of traveling and rarely gets to see Rei, and Rei's mother died when Rei was very young so she's had a pretty tough life.
School:
Rei attends T*A Private Girls' School (Brookdale Private School) where she is well known and respected for her leadership and ambition. But there are those who taunt and fear Rei for her supernatural abilities and is sometimes rejected for this. AWWW...:(
Romances:
Rei has had a couple of relationships but none really lasted that long. For example, Rei went out with Momoru for a while but she knew it wasn't to be. But one night she found a "rock star" named Yuuichirou (Chad) sleeping on the Temple steps. Yuuichirou immediately fell in love with Rei and declared that he would like to stay at the temple under Grampa Hino's training (So he could be close to Rei). Rei doesn't like to admit it but she too has deep feelings for Yuuichirou and sometimes risks' her life to save him and visa-versa. See!? He's her lobster! ^_^
Powers:
Since she lived at the temple with her Grampa most of her life, Rei has recieved training in the arts of the Shinto. Rei can read fire to find an enemy, sense all types of energies, she has a heightened sense of E.S.P.,and she can make ofuda's (anti-evil scrolls). Whenever Rei senses an evil energy she says something along the lines of "I feel a strange force here...it must be banished!" or "I'm getting creepy/wierd/evil vibes..." After she says that she whips out an ofuda and chants "Rin, pyou, tou ,sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen...AKIRAAA TAI SAN!!!" then she pins the scroll onto the evil and it gets banished or exorsized. And when she's Sailor Mars, Rei's powers revolve around fire. Very cool!
Personal Note:
Final Thought...Rei's cool! She's bossy, stubborn, everything has to be her way or nothing at all, and I love her sassy disposition!!! Go Rei-chan! ::starts to sing::Sailor Maps, Sailor Maps! (Inside joke) ^_^
Transformation:
As a protector against evill, all the senshi must transform to their alter ego's: the Sailor Senshi!
Mars Power Make-Up!/ Mars Power!
This is Rei's first transformation that was used throughout the first season and the first part of the R season. Rei twirls around and is surrounded by rings of fire (wasn't that a song?). Then when the fire engulfs her, Rei is instantly transformed into Sailor Mars and she does her cool pose!
Mars Star Power Make-Up!/ Mars Star Power!
This is Rei's second transformation which she used throughout the second part of the R season, all of the S season, and the first half of the SuperS series. The sequence is the same except for the sign of Mars that appears in the background.
Mars Crystal Power Make-Up!/ Mars Crystal Power!
This is Rei's third and final transformation which is used through the last half of the SuperS season and all of Sailor Stars. The sequence is the same exept for Rei's upgraded fuku (uniform) and a red-neon bow and arrow appear in the back ground when she poses.
Attacks:
As the Soldier of Mars, Rei has the awesome ability to attack with blazing fire! Ooo, sizzle!
Fire Soul!/ Mars Fire Ignite!
This is Mars' first attack. As she spins around, Mars clasps' her hands together and points her index fingers skywards while a fire spark spirals on the tips of her fingers. Then when she thinks it's strong enough, she unleashes a spiraling ball of flames. Mars uses this attack all through the series even though she has more powerful attacks.
Akira Taisan!/ Mars Fireballs Charge!
This attack was not gained by being a scout, Rei learned this attack while training in the art of Shintoism. Rei pulls out an ofuda ( an anti-evil scroll ) and holds it infront of her face while fire flashes behind her. In Japanese Rei chants 9 ancient runes that are said to be the Runes of Protection: " Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen...akiraaa TAISAN!!!" (which translates into "evil spirits begone/ disperse") and in North America she says,"I call upon the power of Mars! Fireballs CHARGE!" even though this attack has nothing to do with the power of Mars. This attack can:
paralize an enemy
banish or exorcise a demon or evil energy posessing someone
restrain a person who is posessed by an evil force
Mars Power!/ Mars Power!
Mars used this ability in the 1st season. When Princess Serenity was battling Queen Metallia (Queen Beryl) Mars gave the sum of her energy to the Princess so she could beat her. She also used this power to create a forcefield to protect Sailor Moon from Kunzite's (Malachite's) attacks.
Fire Soul Bird!/ Mars Fire Bird Strike!
This is Sailor Mars' powered-up attack that she gains in the first part of the R season. Mars discovered this attack when a cardian had destroyed the music that she had worked so hard on for a talent show. Mars combines an ofuda and a fire ball and they mold into a blazing pheonix that scorches the enemy. In Japanese Mars chants odd words that sound like, " Ya, na, ma,...etc." (really wierded) while she holds the ofuda. Mars only uses this attack during the first part of the R season then it is never heard from again.
Burning Mandala!/ Mars Celestial Fire Surround!
This is Sailor Mars' third attack that she gains in the second part of the R season. She uses this attack through the second part of the R season, S season, and the first half of SuperS. It starts out with Mars tracing a full body circle of fire with her hand and the fire forms like 8 glowing balls with ancient kanji writing in them. Mars then absorbs them into her hands and shoots burning rings of fire (there's that song again!) at the enemy. I really like this attack! ( Note: Mandala is an ancient symbol in the Shinto and Buddhist religions [ I think]. It is a square within a circle that contains the image of a goddess or diety.)
Mars Star Power!/ Mars Star Power!
This ability is equivelant to Mars Power but it's much more powerfull. Mars uses this ability to summon up all of her energy and harness it into her tiara as to give it to Sailor Moon when she needs help defeating an enemy. For example:
- the Doom Phantom
- Fiore and the Kisenian Flower
- the asteroid
She also uses this ability to use the Sailor Teleport or Sailor Planet Attack.
Mars Flame Sniper!/ Mars Flame Sniper!
This is Mars' final and most powerful attack! Sailor Mars thrusts her hand to her side and the the symbol of Mars appears in her palm and is then ingulfed by flames. Then Mars is shown holding a flaming bow and an arrow of red energy. She shoots the enemy and they're reduced to ashes. Mars has a really good aim, she once shot an enemy while it was holding Sailor Neptune in front of it.
