PERSONALITY:
Ami Mizuno is as cool as ice! -pun- Ami is the down-to-earth, quick-witted, and logical one of the group. She's a bit introverted and at times extremely modest. She doesn't waste her time drooling over boys or flippin' over the new Sailor V video game, infact she would much rather use that time to study or read. Sometimes she can be a bit obsessive about studying and getting hight marks on her tests, but she also directs that energy into being an outstanding senshi. You can always turn to Ami for moral and emotional support and she's usually the one that referee's Rei and Usagi's nag-fests. Usually Ami tries to help Usagi with her school work but when Usagi demanded that Ami help her to become smarter, Ami got a little wigged-out. But none the less, Ami's always there for her freinds.

FAMILY:
Alas...Ami comes from a bit of a broken home. She lives with her mother in the Azabu Juuban district (a bit of a posh area) where they stay in an extravagent apartment. Ami's mother is a well known pediatritian who really rakes the $$$ in. But since Ami's mother is so busy they hardly ever spend time together. But Ami has a few great memories when she was young. Whenever Ami would get depressed, her mother would make her cookies. And as for Ami's father, well, Ami rarely gets to see her father. He's an artist who left/ divorced Ami's mom for "another man". That's right! He taught Ami how to swim and draw yet they both rarely get to see eachother but every so often he sends her a drawing!

SCHOOL:
School...Ami's life, love, and happiness. Ami couldn't be much more of a schoolaholic. She forces the group to study everyday throughout the whole S season. She's always worried about her (and Usagi's) High School Acception Exams. During the first Season, Ami was published on the newspaper as Japans #1 stundent. Ami forever strives to get perfect scores on her tests and stuff. Before she was transferred to Crossroads Junior High (Usagi's School), Ami attended Brighton Academy, the "brain farm" as Naru and Usagi reffered to it once. To make up for all the hard work that Crossroads Junior High laments to keep Ami's mind sharp, Ami attends Albert Einsteins School for the Gifted twice a week after school. Since she's so smart, Ami was offered the chance to go to school in Germany to advance her education significantly. Ami almost took this golden opportunity but then decided that her freinds and being a Sailor Senshi was way more important.

Romances:
Well, Ami hasn't had too much activity in this department due to the fact that she "claims" that she never has the time for boys cause of all her studying. Yet, she has picked up a few crushes on the way to academic success...such as Urawa (Greg)! Ami became smitten with Urawa when she noticed he got a higher score than she did on an exam. And she wasn't the only one, Urawa had a fancy for Ami long before they knew eachother. He read about Ami in the newspaper when she was recognized as Japan's #1 student. But they didn't hook up till later because Urawa turned out to be the third Nijizuishou (Rainbow Crystal) carrier and he found out Ami was Sailor Mercury, but he kept this a secret and moved away due to his dad's job but he returns in the episode, Tuxedo Unmasked!

Powers:
Ami, in my opinion seems to be the most in touch with her powers than any of the other senshi. This is demonstrated in the episode An Uncharmed Life when Rei and Usagi were trapped in an alternate dimension and Ami used the power of her Henshin Pen to keep the portal home open. Yet, Ami does seem to have the weakest powers among all the others. She must have been last in line when they were handing out powers...in the words of Tuxedo Kamen, "You think you can stop me with those silly bubbles?!" Hey, don't get me wrong, I love our beloved Ami-chan! She's one of my, if not the, favorite scouts ever! Besides, like I should talk...my element is water too! ^_^;;

Personal Note:
My Final Thought is that I love Ami-chan and I think she's one of my all time favorites! But one thing I get so irritated by is her new voice in the S and SuperS season! ARGH! Ah well...mai mai!

TRANSFORMATION:
As a protector against evil, all the senshi must transform to their alter ego's: the Sailor Senshi!

Mercury Power Make-Up!/ Mercury Power!
This is Ami's first transformation. Ami said this to become Sailor Mercury during the first season and the first part of the R season. Ami's body was wrapped in long ribbons of shimmering water and the screen rippled, showing Ami fully transformed then she does her cool little pose!

Mercury Star Power Make-Up!/ Mercury Star Power!
This is Ami's second transformation which was used during the second part of the R series, the S season, and the first part of the SuperS season. The sequence is the same except that the sign of Mercury appears in the back ground when Sailor Mercury poses.

Mercury Crystal Power Make-Up!/ Mercury Crystal Power!
This is Ami's final transformation which was used during the last half of the SuperS season and throughout Sailor Stars. The sequence is pretty much the same except that Mercury's fuku (uniform) is upgraded and a blue-neon harp appears in the back ground when she poses. In the movie, Ami's First Love (Ami-chan no Hatsukoi), Ami transforms in a really cool way! There's a gem on her forehead and she makes a circle of water that wraps around her and clothes her.

ATTACKS:
As Sailor Mercury, Ami has quite a number of attacks. These attacks are made up of water and Ice.

Shabon Spray/ Mercury Bubbles Blast:
This is Mercury's first and weakest attack. Mercury forms a glowing bubble in her out-stretched hands and sends forth a plethora of icy bubbles. This attack is of no offensive use, Mercury only uses this attack to buy her and the other scouts more time. This attack can:
create a thick fog that blankets the area
blind and confuse the enemy
distract the enemy with a great reduce in temperature
stop & drop flying projectiles
block the enemy by surrounding it with over-sized bubbles, therefore immobilizing it

Mercury Power/ Mercury Power:
Mercury used this ability in the 1st season. When Princess Serenity was battling Queen Metallia (Queen Beryl) Mercury gave the sum of her energy to the Princess so she could beat her. She also used this power to create a forcefield to protect Sailor Moon from Kunzite's (Malachite's) attacks.

Shabon Spray Freezing/ Mercury Ice Bubbles Freeze:
This is Sailor Mercury's powered-up attack! The attack sequence is exactly the same as Shabon Spray except for the fact that this attack freezes the enemy in a wall of ice. Not very original, ne?

Shine Aqua Illusion/ Mercury Ice Storm Blast:
Sailor Mercury's third attack, this is the one that she uses the most. Mercury spins around and gathers all this pressurized ice-water and sends it flying to the enemy and locks them in a pillar of ice. This attack could also just send a giant wave of water to the enemy which can inflict quite a bit of damage. I love the attack sequence that Mercury uses for this attack in the R movie, it's so cool! (no pun intended)

Mercury Star Power/ Mercury Star Power:
This attack is equivelant to Mercury Power but it's much more powerfull. Mercury uses this ability to summon up all her energy and harness it into her tiara as to give it to Sailor Moon when she needs help defeating an enemy. For example:

• Doom Phantom
• Fiore and the Kisenian Flower
• the asteroid

She also uses this ability to use the Sailor Teleport or Sailor Planet Attack.

Mercury Aqua Rhapsody/ Mercury Aqua Rhapsody:
This is Super Sailor Mercury's attack. Mercury gained this attack in the Super S Season of Sailor Moon; the scouts were in trouble cause their powers weren't strong enough to beat the enemy so Mercury just went to La La Land and saw two figures floating above an icy lake in the mountains (in her mind!) One figure was her naked self who was a few feet away form Super Sailor Mercury. They melded and Mercury powered up and gained this spiffy attack! Mercury summons up a bunch of water and forms it into a harp which she starts to strum and long strands of highly-pressurized water fly out of the harp and kills things! So cha!

Mercury Aqua Mirage/ non available:
Well, I've never seen the movie that this attack was in so I wouldn't know what it looks like but I will tell you one thing...it has to do with water!ooooh...you like that, huh?
