Our Lighthouse

~A tribute to: J. Knox McConnell~

By: Debbie

His girls will surely miss him,

As we know that many will.

We'll miss all the lunches,

Sometimes against our will.

The stories that he told us,

Sometimes we knew them well.

Though we had heard them in the past,

Our intrest never failed.

We will miss how he called us "His Girls",

And patted us on the back.

Sometimes it was a bit too hard,

It was never meant like that.

But most of all I know we'll miss,

The beacon of a light we saw.

Exactly like a lighthouse,

He stood so strong and tall.

His stature was much like that,

Knox's Girls a ship at sea.

We allways watched his guilding light,

To bring us safely through.

Sometimes the sea got rocky,

The boat tossed to and fro.

His light, it never failed us,

We'll never let it go.

And so I say in closing,

His vision, it was strong.

He taught us to respect it,

We've known it for so long.

We'll never let that light go out,

We'll man it night and day.

We'll keep his vision with us,

He would have wanted it that way.

We love you,

Knox's Girls
