| Why Mana? |

guess everyone who is visiting this site would be wondering. Why am I
dedicating valuable web space to this not very well known character in
Neon Genesis Evangelion. Actually, I wanted to make a shrine for Asuka. In
which I will but not as of yet. But I came across a particular image
gallery from the Anime Web Turnpike. There was a link which said
Girlfriend of Steel. So I thought, why not? I was captivated by an image
of the sweetest and most demure looking female I have seen. Her greyish-black
eyes were what attracted my attention. So rueful...so soulful.
I never had the chance to play the game myself so most of the stuff here are based heavily on what I've gathered from other sites and from my very own personal opinion. To me, Mana appears to be some sort of balance for the negativity in Evangelion. She's bright, cheerful, reminds me so much of a sunflower in a field of dying weeds. Of course Mana isn't all looks...or figure for the matter. If one has actually taken the time to look underneath that smile, you'll find a different person underneath. Come to think of it, she reminds me of Shinji...in a more feminine way. Mana is a metaphor of all sorts. I've used her name and character in several of my stories portraying her as a lifeline of some sort. She just seems to exude hope and determination. I have yet to find out the true meaning to her name, and once I do, I will be sure to post it up here. For now, I guess you'll just have to make do with my 3 cents worth of ramblings. Or, if you have any enquiries, why not just mail me? I'd appreciate comments and mild criticism. But not outright flaming. I can't tolerate fire. |
