Chang Kitana
Aria Maxwell
Mission 76si.a
Type: blue leaf
Code: 5j
Objective: attack and defeat group of rebels gathering strength on base 877x.bg1
“Whoa, brief enough,” grinned Duo as he read over Aria’s shoulder.
“Go away, Duo,” she snarled. He shrugged and walked back into the kitchen.
Kitana looked up at Aria. “So, what we gonna do?” “The mission, of course,” Aria said sarcastically. Kit rolled her eyes in disgust.
“No, I meant there are only two of us. And it’s street fighting, see? Blue leaf?” Kit pointed to the code words.
“Then we’ll just have to load ourselves with artillery! But of course, you only have that stupid little sword. I’ll lend you some guns,” Aria offered rudely.
Kit sneered unhappily. “It’s called a Katana. And thank you, but as much as I’d like to refuse I need the guns so sure.”
Aria pulled out two Magnums, a Ripper for herself, and a few knives also for herself. She handed Kit one Magnum and a Beretta.
“Don’t be TOO generous,” Kit laughed. She followed Aria out the door.
When they got to the base, they were in for a surprise. The rebels were much more experienced than they had expected.
“HYAH!” one cried as they aimed a kick at Kit, but was blocked and spun over. Instead of falling like any other person, they did a cartwheel and landed back upright. “That’s not possible!” whimpered Kitana. She pulled out her Katana and began to fight one as Aria let her Ripper loose.
Suddenly, a Japanese girl jumped in the middle and began to street fight a rebel dressed all in black and won, but only after a struggle. “Nice,” complimented Kit as she backed up next to this girl.
“Thanks,” she replied briefly, then resumed the fight.
“Hey, what’s your name?” Aria wondered as the girl managed to finish off her fight. The Japanese girl answered, but without stopping the fight. “Solana Kai. You’re Aria Maxwell, and over there’s Kitana Chang. I heard about you from the captain. He said we’re gonna be working together for a while, so you’d better get used to the fact that I’m a treehugger.”
Aria shrugged; fair enough. They continued the fight until one rebel was left and was giving Aria a hard time. Kit and Solana stood by, watching. “JYA!” she yelled, aiming a kick at Aria and hitting her in the face. Aria fell over, only to get right back up painfully.
“Why don’t you leave like the others?” asked Kitana but not rudely.
“I don’t give up,” she replied. Aria thought about this. “Why don’t you join us?” The girl, who was apparently blonde, continued fighting. “Because, I’ve been searching for a cost and yours just doesn’t fit.”
Finally the girl sighed in exasperation and left. “By the way, nice Ripper,” she called after Aria.
The next day, Solana, Aria, and Kitana were called before the captain of the colonies. “I heard that you met up with Solana,” he said, pleased. “Yessir,” Aria said respectfully. Kit nodded. “And that mission was only a test. I’d also like to introduce to you another street fighter, who pretended to be a rebel to fight you.”
The blonde girl walked before the three street fighters.
“Hey.”
“It was only a test? What do you mean?” Aria asked, ignoring the girl standing in front of her. “Exactly what I said. That didn’t count. I just wanted you to get acquainted with two of your new partners. You four will be working together until the war ends,” the captain announced. Aria looked shocked and displeased. Group fights were just not her thing.
“Well, I hope you’ll take Apryl and Solana under your wing,” he finished, getting up to leave.
“Apryl… Hi, I’m Kitana,” Kit smiled.
“Hi,” Apryl greeted warmly. “Solana and I already know each other. The captain introduced us yesterday, before the mission was sent to you.”
“Who’re you?” Apryl asked, motioning to Aria.
“Aria.”
There was an awkward silence for a minute. “Uh… yeah, ok then. I think I’m gonna go now. See you around!” Apryl called, walking away from the other girls.
Kit thought for a second. “Wait! You wanna come to a bar with us tonight?” she invited. Aria gave her an angered look; her first impression of this blonde girl wasn’t one she liked.
“Sure… I guess,” shrugged Apryl.
“Yeah, it’s Mizumizu. Be there at 8, ok?” Kit asked. Apryl nodded and continued running off. “Oh… about the bar thingy, I don’t think I can make it,” Solana sighed. “I have to go to an Audubon Society Birdwatchers’ Meeting tonight.”
“Cool! Well, have fun,” Kit said with an additional touch of respect for the treehugger. Solana smiled. “Yeah, I will. See ya!”
That night, the five gundam pilots were playing ‘I Never’ at Mizumizu.
“I never… chugged water from a toilet bowl,” Heero laughed. Duo sheepishly took a drink.
“Whaaaat? I… I… oh, I have no excuse,” he blushed.
“Uh… yeah, ok then… I never wished I was a female,” Wufei shuddered/frowned. Duo and Quatre took sips.
The other three guys shuddered.
“Hmm… I never had impure thoughts about one of Quatre’s sisters,” Trowa grinned. Duo, Heero, and Wufei took shotss.
“Well, it wasn’t that graphic…” protested Heero.
“I say nothing,” Duo grumbled. Wufei just looked away in embarrassment and annoyance.
“You go, Wufei,” Quatre said as he elbowed Wufei.
“Fine. I never went on a date.” There was absolute silence. The other four gundam pilots were shocked, but then burst out into hysterics.
“You… you never… DATED?” asked Heero through his laughter. “HAHAHAHAHA!!!” The gundam pilots didn’t stop laughing for a while. Then Kitana and Aria walked into the bar room where the pilots were playing I never. “Hey guys! Look, we brought a friend!” said Kitana, as she motioned to the door. Apryl walked into the room. “Hey guys,” she called. Kit introduced the guys to her and they resumed playing. Wufei glanced briefly at the blonde girl and smiled… she was a lot better looking than Sally Po.
“I never… had impure thoughts about an older guy,” Aria laughed. Kit guiltily took a shot. “Who?” asked Aria through her laughter. Duo looked fairly jealous. “Treize but I REGRET THEM! I SWEAR I DO!” she pleaded. Wufei looked absolutely horrified, and Duo was just plain scared out of his boxers. “I never got a piercing that my clothes covered,” Quatre said. Kitana and Apryl took shots.
“Let’s see!” shouted Duo, only interested in Kit. Kit lifted up her shirt a bit to show a bellybutton ring.
“Oh, you too?” Apryl asked. She lifted her shirt a bit to show a bellybutton ring as well. Wufei glanced casually at her stomach, but quickly looked away. ‘That was dishonourable,’ he scolded himself. “Neat!” complimented Duo as he stared at the silver stud on Kit’s stomach.
Heero looked disturbed. “Uh… yeah, ok then. Why don’t we keep playing?”
They continued to play until about 2 in the morning, when they were kicked out of the bar/restaurant.
Kit and Duo were having a long and drunk conversation, while Aria was clinging off Heero.
Wufei was standing there, alone, while Quatre and Trowa were standing side by side and making occasional comments to the other.
“Hi Wufei,” Apryl greeted as she walked next to him. He jumped a bit, startled.
“Oh, hi,” he said nonchalantly. She was, after all, only a weak female.
“Kit never mentioned she had a brother,” sighed Apryl.
Wufei grimaced. “Yeah, well…”
“Yeah I can blame her. You’re pretty cute.”
Wufei looked taken aback. “Umm… ok then…” he slowly stepped away from her. Apryl shook her head and walked in the opposite direction. After a while, the alcohol had fully set in. Duo and Kitana were just about to head off to Kit’s apartment. Aria and Heero were about to walk to his car and drive around for a bit. Somehow, Wufei had re-initiated the conversation with Apryl and they were heading off to his apartment.
“What the hell is that?” asked Duo, alert, as he saw his best friend Mr. I-Don’t-Like-Women-Because-They’re-Weak-And-Dishonourable-But-Still-I’m-Not-Gay walk away with a… woman! “Dunno… let’s go,” Kit murmured, her speech slurred. Duo trudged through the thick grass towards his apartment.
