Part 2
"We're going to America?" she asked puzzled.
"That's what I said didn't I? Oh that's right you weren't in Ms. Takeuchi's class this morning were you? Well,...all the honor and high honor students are going."
She pointed to herself in excitement, " I'm on High Honor roll! Alright! I'll be good! Really, really good!"
"I'm holding you to that promise.." and looked away from her. He looked over to Hiya and Yumi.
"I'm sorry," mouthed Hoshin silently to Hiya under the teachers glare. She nodded silently in agreement.
Yumi and Hiya sat next to each other starring blankley at the wall. Hoshin walked out and waved her hand in front of them.
"Hey, are you guys going out or something?" She asked.
Hiya blushed.
"No way could I go out with ditz like Hiya."
"What was that Yumi? You care repeat that?" Hiya retaliated.
"I said..."
"Excuse me children! Back to your classes!" The principal demanded.
Hiya stood up and walked outside next to Hoshin. They giggled and whispered. As soon as Hoshin got to her classroom she waved and entered. Hiya looked back at Yumi and glared.
"Ditz." Is all he could say.
"What's wrong with you? You moron!" Hiya screamed.
"Me the moron? I think you are a little mixed up, ditz."
"Oh you just wait!" She chased after him and he ran down the hallways "Get back here Yumi! I'll make you regret ever calling me that!" She hollered after him.
Hiya stopped at the enterance of her classroom and walked in casually and sat in her seat.
"I'm sorry for being late. I was in the principal's office due to a missunderstanding." Hiya pouted.
"That's fine. Have you seen Samisu?" She asked.
"No..."
"I bet she's trying to skip class. Well, you're not getting away Samisu... You'll regret trying to skip with me as your teacher!" She walked over to the speaker and pushed a button.
"This is the office." It crackled.
"Yes, I want Samisu in detention for skipping class."
"Consider it done." The secretary cackled.
Hiya glanced back in her book. It was last year's year book. Almost all the boys in the school signed it. All except for Yumi... Not like it mattered to her or anything. She closed it and looked up.
"Now, as I was saying class. We are going to America and I will pass out permission slips that need to be in by tomorrow. Or else you cannot go. We will be leaving next Monday at 5 am and meeting at the docking area. There we shall board the cruise ship and three people of the same gender can share a room. Got it?"
The class nodded. Hiya sighed and looked back at the clock. School was just begining. Thursdays were always so long!
Just then Sammy and Yumi walked in.
"Samisu, to the office!" Her teacher pointed.
She gave her a look of confusion but then turned around and walked back out the door.
Yumi sat down next to Hiya's desk. Hiya growled under her breath. She looked up at the clock and tapped her pencil's eraser on her desk. She sighed with boredom. More and more people asked questions about the trip. Hiya didn't care. America didn't fascinate her that much. She was only taking English so she could broadcast news in the U.S when she got older.
"Hey Hiya." someone tapped her on her shoulder.
Hiya turned around, her friend Kodaki looked at her with a smile.
"Yeah?" Hiya replied.
"Where'd ya get that shirt it's awesome?" She asked.
"Oh, um... I think it's some designer shirt..." Hiya stated.
"How much was it?" Kodaki asked again.
"Oh not that much... 70,000 yen maybe?" Hiya informed.
Kodaki's mouth dropped "You do know I hate you though right?"
"Oh I'm so scared." Hiya sarcastically announced and turned back around. Kodaki smirked.
"DING!" The lunch bell rang. Hiya grabbed her books and walked outside. She kicked her locker and shoved her books in. She then picked up her lunch bag and walked down to where she would meet Hoshin.
"Hello Hiya, may I interest you in some lunch with I, Noriko Casenote?" The co-leading school martail artist asked as he did everyday.
"Um... No." Hiya replied and continued to walk away.
"Don't play shy my sweet. Norkio can cure your fears. Run into my arms my love." Noriko begged and ran towards her, his arms spread apart.
"Grr... Run into this!" Hiya punched him sending him flying into a cork board.
Other boys clapped. "Nice save Hiya." One congratulated.
"Good one Hiya." Another applauded.
Hiya smiled and walked over to Hoshin who was standing there glaring at her.
"Ready?" Hiya asked.
"Where's Samisu?" Hoshin replied.
"Um... Well, I think she was sent down to dentention," Hiya stated.
"Oh. Really for what?" Hoshin asked.
"Who knows. Come on though I'm starving."
Hiya looked ahead a large group of boys watching her.
"Um... Better yet, let's run!" Hiya said grabbing Hoshin's hand and racing down the hall. The boys followed.
"Ow! Hiya you're pinching my arm!" Hoshin yelped.
Up ahead Hiya could see Sam waiting for them.
"Samisu!" She yelled and ran faster toward her friend.
Hiya looked around to see the boys still following her. Why was lunch always such a battle? She prayed she wouldn't have to fight anyone today.
"Hiya sit with me!" A boy cried out. Hiya shuttered and continued running. Hoshin and Sammy followed. Hiya looked behind her again and missed the Caution wet floor sign. Of course she slipped and skid across the hallway. "Shit!"
"Hiya watch it!" Hoshin warned.
"Thud." Hiya's eyes squeezed shut.
When they re-opened she wasn't hurt at all. She looked up.
She was held firmly in Yumi's strong arms. He was smirking, almost grinning. "You okay?"
Hiya nodded, still in shock.
Hoshin ooh'ed. "Oh how sweet."
Sammy giggled.
"Oh please, I didn't do that because I like her."
Hiya growled again. "Die Yumi!" She chased after him.
Ueki stopped running and watched the two. "Oh man, Yumi is so lucky. Here all the boys are chasing after Hiya but Hiya is chasing after Yumi."
