  Harmonica
Blues Harp

Here's Joe holding up Matt's harmonica, Blues Harp.In season one, Yama plays the harmonica. He plays a mouth organ. (Grandma's chicken salad... Don't ask. It's a Joey Tribbiani thing.) Anyhoo, he's first shown with his harmonica in his intro eppy, "Garurumon." He runs off to the other side of the lake and plays a soothing tune. When he plays his harmonica, his feelings begin to show. Sometimes sadness, sometimes happiness, who knows? It's just him, playing his harmonica.

During the last arc, Matt went out to 'find himself,' only accompanied with Gabumon. That's when he left the group in "The Ultimate Clash." Skip a few episodes later to "Joe's Battle," Mimi, Joe, and their Digimon allies wound up in Primary Village. There they heard a sad tune being played- A tune from a harmonica! They rushed to the sound, hopeful to find Matt. But no, it was Elecmon playing a harmonica.

They told Elecmon that they assumed it was someone else. Elecmon told that he was a disappointment for everyone. (Aww.) Joe asked to see what he was playing, so the Digimon handed him the small harmonica. Sure enough, it was Matt's harmonica, Blues Harp.

What the heck is Blues Harp, anyway? That's simple. That's the name of the harmonica. It could also be the name of the brand, but I dunno. The name 'Blues Harp' is engraved on the top of the harmonica. More about the appearance though. The harmonica is practically all gold. Oooh... At least, that's what it generally looks like.

At the last episode of season one, "The Fate of Two Worlds," all evil in the Digital World had been defeated. Everything was great. Matt then insisted on staying in the DigiWorld until summer vacation is over in about four weeks. All the kids agreed and were excited about the idea. Unfortunately, if they had stayed for two more hours, it would cost them their lives.

So they had to leave the DigiWorld before the portal closed up, but not until they said their proper good-byes. When it was time for Matt and Gabumon to say good-bye, not much words were spoken. They just said "Hmm" for awhile. After that...

"That... says it all."--Gabumon
"Mmm-hmm..."--Matt
"I wouldn't mind hearing you play your harmonica... one last time."--Gabumon
"Glad to."--Matt

Aww... So Yama played his harmonica, whilst Gabumon looked up in thought. This was a sweet moment. Some people would say that it wasn't emotional enough. Well, they let out all their feeling in TCoF, remember? Besides, it'll always be "Gabumon and Matt, friends For Life." Nothing could change that.

Harmonica Sitings
Have you seen it somewhere?

This is just a small list where Matt is shown with his harmonica.

1) "Garurumon"- The first apearance of the mighty 'monica!
2) "DigiBaby Boom"-BABY MATT!!
3) "WereGarurumon's Diner"-Demidevimon says it sounds sad. -_-
4) "Sora's Crest of Love"-At the end, you'll see.
5) "Under Pressure"-On top of the whale playing the blues.
6) "Joe's Battle"-Well, it's just the harmonica but still.
7) "The Crest of Friendship"-The harmonica is returned to it's rightful owner
8) "The Fate of Two Worlds"-A sad tune...
9) A Very Digi Christmas Either he's eating food or playing the harmonica. ^^;

The Teenage Wolves

Well, guess what? Yama stopped playing his harmonica in season two. But the good thing is that he's gonna be in a rock band. He formed it with his three friends Takashi, Yutaka, and Akira. How much better can that be? Yama is the bass player and the lead vocalist! Unfortunately, the positions of Takashi, Yutaka, and Akira are unknown. Poop. =(

The Teenage Wolves is VERY popular. They already have had live concerts that have been on TV. WOW. And they're only about 14 years old too. ^_^;;

You wanna see some pictures? Okay! And remember, *satanic voice* Do NOT steal MY pictures which  I have scanned myself, you insolent, ungrateful, humaaaaan... *normal voice* Alright, let's get to the peachy keen piccies now!

The Teenage Wolves from a fan's eye view in the middle area.

Here's the band at their Christmas Concert from a fan's eye view. Of course, being the impatient little girl at concerts that I am, I would stand up on top of the seats without a care. But enough about me... Here's the band! There's keyboards, bass player and leading vocalist, electric guitar, and drums! Whoo! And if you ask me, the whole setup is pretty unusual. I'm just traditional, I guess. I'm used to the drums in the middle, the two guitar players in the front, and the keyboard off to the side near the drums. But it's pretty good that they're all spread out, so all the fans could get a good look. ^_^

"Totsuzen yatte kuru shoutai fumei no fuan..."

You just KNOW I had to show you all a picture of Matt singing. Oh the wonder! *sighs happily* Doesn't he look like he really means and actually cares about the words coming out of his mouth? His songs have morals in them, and what a joyous and fine thing that is. Yama, you keep the flame lit!

"You're leaving already, Matt? We're not even done with rehearsals yet." Matt, just cuz you've got a large fanbase doesn't mean you could leave your band at a time of need. ^_~

Here's one half of the group at rehearsal right now. You can't see their faces, but it's better than nothing. ^_~ And a side note: The guy with the guitar is real good-looking. ^_^ And yes, I HAVE seen his face before. Gosh, what do you take me for? A weirdo?? (Also note: Much sarcasm was written with the last two sentences.) But seriously, the guitarist is pretty. He reminds me of Tai, for some reason. It's got to be from this Tir na Nog pic I saw before...

"Hey, zip it! It's time for rehearsal!" This time, it's Matt who wants to rehearse. ^_^;;

A small but decent picture of the drums and keyboard player. Apparently, the keyboard player was late for rehearsal for the Christmas Concert because "this really cute girl asked me for her autograph." And then Matt did his whole "Zip it!" thing. Priceless. Heh, the girl must've been Jun, she thought he was Shuu! *laughs* I'll never let that go, nope nope. ^^; Eh, I forgot what the drums player said. Oh well!

Up close and freaked out!

Here's a closer look of the Teenage Wolves. Yay! ^_^ They look a little freaked out because there's an evil digimon about to trample them to pieces. Ha ha ha, silly digimon. *wags a finger* Anyhoo, you can see them much better, even tho the pics not all that good. But it's still okay. ^_^ The keyboard player prolly wet his pants, Matt is all shocked but in a surprised way since he's already seen a Digimon up close, the guitarist is all "Augh!," and the drums guy is all "Oh no! Don't hurt my precious drums set!" Ha ha ha, silly band members.

Yamato  no Theme

Yama's seiyuu, Kazama Yuuto has also done some songs for Digimon Adventure that were not shown in the series, except maybe one. ^_^ Yama has three vocal songs and one instrumental theme. They were released in Digimon CDs sold in Japan. These are songs all about Yama and that's why these are his themes. Hmm, duh. ^^ So here they are.

"Run With The Wind"

'Run With the Wind' is Yamato's Theme. It's all instrumental and no words. There are two versions to it. A fast one, and a slow one. Lemme talk about the slower version, since that's the one I'm listening to right now. ^_^;

The 'Slow' One:

The instruments you can here right off the bat are the drums and... harmonica!!! ^_^ You can so imagine Yama playing this song, since it's so blues type. It's very mellow and r&b. This is the perfect theme for him. ^_^ It sounds a bit like "Walk on the Edge" too, just a bit slower. You have to listen to the song to make the resemblence. Cool. ^^
The song is about one minute. A minute and five seconds to be exact.

The 'Fast' One: Personally, I like this version better. It's a very upbeat song. It shows Yama's outgoing and fun side, while the other version shows his deep and sensitive side. Now how cool is that? ^^ Anyhoo, the cool thing about this song is that it starts off slow, and then after a short pause, it's upbeat and fast. ^_^ The song is like a midi version of "Walk on the Edge." ^^  The instruments you can hear are the harmonica, of course (^^), drums, and tambourine. It's a minute and forty seconds long, so it's a bit longer than the first version.

So there ya have it. I give "Run With The Wind" an A infinty plus, since both versions capture Yama's personality extremely well. ^_^ You can find "Run With The Wind" on the Digimon CDs 'Digimon Adventure Uta to Ongaku Shuu Ver. 1.' and 'Digimon Adventure Uta to Ongaku Shuu Ver. 2' Both versions are sold seperately. ^_^;

"Walk on the Edge"

When I first heard this song, I was hooked. I kept playing it over and over and over... Well, you get the point. You'd think I'd get sick of it. But no. I listen to it almost everyday. I adore this song!  ^_^ "Walk on the Edge" is Yama's Vocal Theme in season one. When I first heard this, I thought it was gonna be slow, but then all of a sudden the drums does a fast thing and you could here Yuuto's voice. This is one VERY upbeat song. I love it! ^_^ There are so many instruments too. All I could figure out right now are the drums, a bass or electric guitar, a tambourine, and a whole mess of other instruments. Trying to figure that out is just making my head hurt. ^^;

Now unto the singing. Lemme say just one thing: Kazama Yuuto CAN sing. And he sings really, really good in my opinion. ^_^ I didn't hear his voice break or anything. It sounded okay to me. But then again, I'm not an ace in the music business. ^^; Out of all the other vocal songs, "Walk on the Edge" is prolly the most sing-songy. ^_^

So in conclu-eee-sion, the song rocks. ^_^ I love the song, and you should too. *pause* Well, you don't have too, but ya might as well give it a listen. The song is three minutes and nineteen seconds long and can be found on the 'Digimon Adventure Best Hit Parade.' ^_^

"Negai Kanaeru Kagi"
(The Key to Granting Wishes)

Ah, Yama's Vocal Theme in 02. What can I say about this song? Weeell... I adore it!! Yes yes, I know. Oooh, surprise. ^_^ But really, I love this song. "Negai Kanaeru Kagi" is another upbeat Yama song. I just love upbeat songs. ^_^ Anyhoo, I hear that this song was played by Yama's band in 02. Cool, eh? around the first time I was listening to the song, my cousin was with me. Right after Kazama Yuuto counted, she immediately said "Z Games!" Obviously, I was confused. She was laughing, saying that that's what the beginning of "Z Games," a show on the Disney Channel, sounded like. A few weeks later, I was on the couch channel surfing when I stop at the Disney Channel. It was Z Games. I listen to the theme song, and start laughing. It does sound a bit like it... ^^

Okay, so enough about Z Games. ^^; The song itself is just spectacular. Many cool instruments like the electric and bass guitars and the drums. Some essential instruments for Yama's rock band. ^_~ My favorite part of the song is the chorus. I always sing along, but usually humming since I don't know the words. ^^; If you listen to "Walk on the Edge" and this song, you can tell that Yuuto tried to get his voice to sound deeper. Well duh. Yama is now fourteen. ^^

Well, I just love this song. It rocks too. No pun intended. You can find this song on the 'Digimon Adventure 02 Best Partner 2.' The only thing bad about this song is... the cd cover looks awful. They made Yama look like a... a... oh, it's awful! *bawls* Anyhoo, the song is three minutes and forty-eight seconds long.

"Oretachi no Melody"
(Our Melody- a duet with Yamaguchi Mayumi)

*sniffle* "Oretachi no Melody" is a beautiful song! It much much different than all the other ones. This is a deep and soulful song. ^_^ It's a duet with Yamaguchi Mayumi, otherwise known as Gabumon. ^^ "Oretchi no Meldoy" would go so well together if it was played in the episode "The Crest of Friendship," doncha think? They go together... *crosses fingers*... like that. ^_^

The instruments you cand hear are the piano, the electric or bass guitar, and the drums. Mostly piano though. ^^ The song isn't as upbeat as the others, but it's still a very nice song. "Oretachi no Meloldy," also known as "Our Melody" fits Yama and Gabumon very well since they have such a close bond. They prolly have the closest bond of all. ^^

I don't have much to say about this wonderful song, except that this is one of my favorites. It just makes me wanna take a lighter and wave it around. ^^ It's four minutes

and thirty-two seconds long. You can find this on the "Digimon Adventure 02 Best Partner 2" cd.

Well, that's all. Until next time. ^_^

CDs

What? Cds!? Yamato has his own Cds? Yep, that's correct. His band has a CD entitled the Teen-Age Wolves. ^_^ Also, Yama has his own Drama CD which I am not very familiar with but have a general idea.

The Teen-Age Wolves

How come it don't show the rest of the band?? *frowns* It's not like he's the only one.

This CD features 2 songs. I'm not sure. Anyhoo, these are songs 'sung' and 'played' by Yamato's band. ^_^; The first song I will talk about: Tobira ~Door~. Then I will talk about Hitori Bocchi no Shiso.

"Tobira  ~Door~"

This is a very nice song with a great sound. It starts out slow, then fast, then slow... You get the picture. But it doesn't sound broken at all. It goes into each sequence marvelously. There's a big pause in between. Yamato-kun made this song for the girl who had eye surgery in his drama cd. This song is about believing in yourself. Nice theme. I also like this song because it's sorta like... rock. All the right instruments. This song is 5 minutes and 44 seconds.

Also, there's an acoustic version of this song found in his drama CD. ^_~

"Hitori Bocchi no Seesaw"

I definitely like this song better. Don't get me wrong. Tobira ~Door~ is an awesome song too. I just seem to enjoy this one more. It has female back-ups. This isn't a rock song. It's a song where... how can I put this? Ahem. This is a 'swoon-worthy' song. I can imagine Yama singing this on stage with the girls drooling and fainting. And no pelvic thrusts are needed. Wow. ^_~ Honestly, I do NOT know what this song is about. I have not seen lyrics, heard info, or anything. So if anyone is nice enough to tell me what it is about, you will forever be in my good graces. ^_^ This song is 4 minutes and 40 seconds long.

Ishida Yamato no Ichinichi (A Day of Yamato Ishida)

How... dramatic.

This is Yamato's Drama CD. He's the only DD with a Drama Cd. How special! *hugs plushie* In case you do not know, a Drama CD is a CD with a story in it. Like television, only without the pictures. ^^; There are ten tracks to it. All I know is that girl sends Yamato a tape of how she just had eye surgery and that his music made her strong. Isn't that sweet? And then Yamato, being touched by the girl, has a new inspiration for a song (Which turns out to be Tobira ~Door~) He doesn't come up with the song very easily. The whole story is set in the beach, where he does all his thinking and writing about it.

Thank you so much Kaorichan for providing me with the information! ^_^ You are the best.
