Tales of Phantasia is an RPG that was released on Super Famicom by Namco a while back, right before SNES died. It is one of the finest RPGs ever made on SNES; sadly it never came to the US.
After the successful release of Tales of Destiny, the sequal to Phantasia, Namco decided to remake Tales of Phantasia for the Playstation. The release date was December 23, 1998. One problem though, its still not coming to the US.
If you played Tales of Destiny before Tales of Phantasia is almost identical in game play. The only difference is Phantasia is better! Well at least I think so. Because the remake of Phantasia occured after the release of Tales of Destiny, the development team from Namco used more advanced ..ehh stuff (can't find the right word ><) and they improved many of the flaws that were in Destiny. Also Fujishima Kosuke (artist of You're Under Arrest and Ah! My Goddess) did the artwork.
This game has many great feature, like the side-scrolling battle scenes where you actually have to do more then tap the button on the controller (its like an Action RPG) and when you press select during the overworld view you can listen to your characters talk to each other. One addition to the Playstation version is a new usable character, Suzu, the ninja girl from the Famicon version. Its a very lighthearted game and it takes place in a medieval looking fantasy world, thank God (I'm kinda sick of those FF super modern world with funny looking cars and clothes). One warning though, if you get annoyed by Japanese girls with squeaky voices, don't get the game!
Reason I made this site? Well for one I like the game (duh!) and also because noticed that there weren't any personal Tales of Phantasia sites out there on the new PSX version, or so I thought. After I made this site I happened to run into a bunch of great Phantasia sites -.-.
Just one note, I don't exactly speak or read Japanese, so I didn't really understand the storyline. All I know is, there's the blond guy that got sealed in this tomb a long time ago and he got released...yeah..well. Anywayz go click on things.
