Articus is the star of our story.  She is 15, a student and a newcomer to the Kintaka.  She has this recurring dream of a swan attacking her.  This is confusing considering the meaning of a swan in the Kintaka.  The best way to understand the ways of the Kintaka is to follow her, she will be learning at your pace.

Name:  Judith Parsat
Age: 25
Title: Sekmet, new leader
Totem: Lioness
Sekmet became the leader after the death of Isis although she was not the daughter of Isis.  She was chosen to lead if Isis had no daughters and has been respected since childhood.  She will not be heard from in the first few issues for she lives in New York.  She had the head offices moved there after Isis's death, they used to be in Paris.  She is very powerful because her family served as magicians for many centuries.

Andrea
Name: Andrea Carston
Age: 16
Title: Europa (no one knows why), teacher of children
Totem:  White tailed deer
Europa has been a Kintaka since birth, she is very wise for her age and has agreed to be the teacher of Articus.  It's hard to imagine why she would quit her work teaching the young girls and focus on one newcomer.  She is a good teacher and knows much about plants and special medicines and potions.
