This 4 part mini series was a great surprise to me, seeings how I have never heard of it. A fast paced adventure, tied together with an epic story, and some of the coolest animation I have ever seen.

Blue Sub 6's epic story revolves around a battle between the remaining humans, and an insane genious, and his cybernetic super-freaks, (no not the song,) in the distant future. The more I think about it, it's kinda got an Independence Day, meets U-571 thing going on .... only without aliens, or nazis. The good story really makes the movie. The only thing I don't really like is the strange connection between the main character, and that fish girl. A whole episode kinda revolves around them, and I just think it's a waste.

Animation .... Wow, where do I start? Well I guess with the unbelievible cool computer animation sequences. What really makes this cool, is how well the well-drawn characters blend with the computer animation explosions, machines, and all of the rest of the computer digitalized things. I don't think it's my favorite animation I have ever seen, becuase of the charater animation, but it's definatly something new, and probably going to be a huge inovation in all the anime to come.

The characters in the series aren't the best characters in an anime, but I guess they fit in perfectly in a story not really revolving around them. The main character was allright. He was kinda shady, and wierd at the beginning, but after he burst in on a speeding ship bearing 2 uzi's, I started to like him. He was probably my favorite character, which is kind of sad, becuase he wasn't anything special. I guess that just goes to show you waht I felt about the rest of some the characters.

Blue Sub 6 has some really cool Sound effects, but also sadly that is the only thing I found nice on my ears during this series. These cool sound effects included some amazing explosions, as well as others, where as the music contained some fast-paced blues, and stupid trumpet music. I found it hard to get into some of the action sequences with that retarted music struming along. The other bad thing with this movie was the voice acting. The main character was mostly silent throughout the movie, but when he did talk, he just didn't posses a voice that did his character justice. The same went for all the rest of the characters.

Where this series lacks in good characters, music, and voice, it makes up in grasping your interest from the beginning to end. Blue Sub 6 is very entertaining becuase of it's awesome combination of great story, and awesome computer rendered action sequences. Each half hour episode is completely packed with excitment, and suspence, but just make sure that you catch this series from the beginning, or you will probably be clueless to whats going on.

A compeling story about a ship that fights the fight to save humanity in the future. Very well done.
