Another great Tenchi story puts our favorite group of characters in yet another entertaining, and adventurous situation. Whats unique about this movie, is that it allows big Tenchi Muyo fans to meat Tenchi's mother Achika, and Father Nobuyki, when there in there teenage years. The story pretty much focuses around them, and how they first fall in love. Then you can throw in the super bad-ass Kain, and his attempt to take out Achika in the past, and the story really starts unrolling around there!
This movie sets the standard for great animation in a motion picture. The setting animation is perfect, and the character animation is amazing. I believe that this movie has the best drawings of the Tenchi characters by a long shot. The end fight scene also has the most amazing animation I have seen in the entire Tenchi series, including the other Tenchi movies.
What is there not to like about the Tenchi Muyo characters? All the characters from the tv series are back from Tenchi, all the way to Sasami, with the welcome addition of Achika. You also can see Nobuyki when he is a Teenager. He's still a dork, but at least he's valient, and brave!
This was the first anime movie that I have ever seen with THX surround sound. Because of it, the music, and sound effects are so crisp, and "loud"! With this in effect, the movie just gets that much better. The music is alittle lacking, but it comes in always at the right time, and always boosts the mood. Lastly, the great voice actors from the show return, and once again do a great performance. All and all, your ears will will completely happy with this movie!
A quick action sequence at the beginning gets you into the movie, and then for the next hour or so, you shold be kept interested in the love story between Nobuyki, and Achika. Finnaly at the end, you should be perfectly lead into the long awaited end fight scene, which isn't very long, but is a damn good scene!! Although, besides the beginning and the end, this movie would lack entertainment to someone who isn't really into Tenchi Muyo.
