The chief of Section 9, Chief Aramaki is both intelligent and resourceful... he has to be to control the "unique" personalities of Section 9 (-ahem-. . . namely Motoko and Bateau). As for how long he has been the chief, no one can remember when he wasn't. He is a very straight forward person, and does what it takes to get a job done. If there's one thing that he hates, it's politics (and he hates it when Section 6 tries to decieve him too !!!). He will also "bend" the rules to get the job done, as he's not afraid to get his hands dirty and take the blame for something. Because of his complex nature, Section 9 rarely knows what he's thinking... making every assignment an adventure.
