Lina was awakened by the sounds of splashing and giggling. Ameria must be bathing she thought with annoyance. "Dammit!" she screamed at a volume likely to cause permanent hearing damage to anyone within twenty-five feet of her. The laughing stopped, and soon Ameria's dripping head appeared at the entrance to the tent she and Lina shared.

"What's wrong, Lina-san?" the soaked girl inquired with a look of concern. "It's so nice and warm, and the sun is shining. What could possible be wrong."

Lina glared at her, growling as her ruby eyes narrowed into slits. Then she lost it, and reached for the midnight-haired girl, who drew back in fright. She wasn't quick enough, however, and Lina's hands closed on her throat and belt and threw her to the ground.

"What's wrong? You dare to ask me what's wrong?!" Lina screamed in blind fury, kneeling on Ameria's up-turned back and throwing an arm around her neck. "What's wrong is that I was sleeping deeply and peacefully, something I don't get to do very often, and you had to come and wake me up!!" Lina yelled, tightening her arm and causing the princess to cough.

"I'm...sorry..." Ameria was able to force out between desperate gasps for air. "It was so warm out this morning I decided to take a bath. It was an innocent mistake. I never meant to wake you."

"Innocent mistake, my ass!" Lina countered, still screaming. "Lost sleep can never be made up, my friend. I've lost that wonderful sleep, that beautiful slumber forever, thanks to you!" She pointed accusingly at Ameria's face which was craned backwards to meet Lina's glare, as Lina was still sitting on the princess.

Ameria fumed as her eyes narrowed. Enough she thought. I've had enough of her stupid temper and bigheadedness. That’s it! "Well why don't you go back to sleep, Lina-san," the short girl muttered darkly. "Why don't you go back to sleep now." With that, the small shrine-maiden with the silky raven locks flipped the ruby-eyed sorceress over her back, placed a hand on Lina's stomach, and softly chanted, "Icicle Lance!" before Lina even had a chance to react. The petite dra-mata was instantaneously encased in a large block of ice.

The Seiryuun princess left Lina there in the tent to cool off and went out to see if Gourry or Zelgadiss were awake yet. She quietly approached the door the tent the two guys shared. Gourry's loud snoring was quite audible, but Ameria didn't detect any sign of Zelgadiss. They must both be asleep she thought, but decided to look in on her beloved Zelgadiss anyway. The princess stealthily pulled back the flap of the men's tent and peered in, then suddenly blushed profusely. Gourry's completely naked form stretched across the entire tent.

Well, I certainly never knew that Gourry-san slept naked before Ameria mused, hoping to goodness that he and Zelgadiss were not secretly a couple. But where is Zelgadiss-san? she wondered, noting his absence, and then registering the fact that his belongings were gone too. I'd better go and melt Lina-san the princess thought as a wave of fear rushed through her. She raced back to the tent in which she had Lina and began chanting a heat spell. Lina, in the mean time, by breathing hard, had been able to melt the area around her face enough to talk, but not quite enough to open her eyes.

"I'll get her," Lina grumbled, not realizing that Ameria was anywhere near her. "Flare Arrow!" she shouted. Her ice cage shattered, but the Flare Arrow kept going. Lina opened her eyes just in time to see Ameria erect a Vallis Wall an instant before she would have been fried.

"Lina-san! Lina-san! Zelgadiss-san has disappeared!" Ameria cried, barely able to control herself. "He's gone Lina-san. We have to find him." She flung her arms around Lina's neck and began sobbing into her shoulder.

Lina immediately tried to push Ameria away. "Why you stupid little brat, what's the big idea freezing me like...What did you say?" she finished with a softer tone. "Zel's gone?"

Ameria was having a difficult time stopping the flow of tears, and Lina sweatdropped four or five times. She patted Ameria's shaking shoulders and stroked her silky tresses, trying to console her. “Oh, Lina-san,” Ameria choked out between wails. “Lina-san, what are we going to do?”
