  • My opinion: Heero Yuy is my favorite of all the Gundam pilots. He is utterly, and selflessly devoted to his 'missions', and dedicated to succeeding. He will stop at nothing- not even if he must self-destruct. (Heero, technically, should have died four times during the series.) The only time he willingly stopped from doing something he should have was when he held a gun to Relena's head. He couldn't pull the trigger, even though she knew his most precious and costly secret. He later used Wing Zero to save her from falling debris; when she could have died without her blood staining his hands. Of course, then he shouted; "What's wrong with me?" and flew off in confusion.
    Despite his characteristic cold and icy gaze, flat voice and murderous ways, I can understand Relena's obvious attraction to him. He does not seem to have, as someone in the show said, a pure heart, but he honestly believes he is doing what was necessary.
    It is almost sad; Heero’s personality. At some point in time, he must have been an innocent child, wide-eyed and trusting. But he was trained to kill and succeed since he was in pajamas with feet. And now he is a lean, mean, Gundam-piloting machine in spandex…
    Anyway, Heero deserves to be the main character. Or, at least, that’s what I think. He, as I said before, is utterly selfless, and is willing to do anything. The other boys all suffer times of doubt and uncertainty- if Heero does, it doesn't effect his performance as the pilot of the Gundam Wing Zero.
