This is my third attempt at a fanfic, and my first song-fic, so go easy
on me with your comments. Email me!
This story is an alternate reality first season romance between our two
favorite people, Darien and Serena. Another thing, they live in the
same apartment complex. Serena and Mina share an apartment, as do
Andrew and Darien.

Early Morning in the streets of Tokyo . . .
"Stupid"
"Ditz"
"Idiot"
(AN: just another day in Tokyo :)
"Klutz"
"Conceited Jerk"
"Meatball Head"
"Sadist"
"Meatball head, Meatball head, Meatball head!"
"Ugh! HOW DARE YOU CALL ME THAT!!! You make me
sooooooo maaad! My name is S-E-R-E-N-A! Now repeat after me,
Se-re-na!"
"Meat-ball-head! Ha! I think I got it!"
"I don't even know why I bother!"
Serena began waking
away from Darien, but tripped on a rock (AN: Where would we be if
Serena didn't klutz out at least once in the story!). She closed her
eyes, waiting for the pain that would come once she hit the ground.
It never came. Instead, she felt strong arms surround her. She slowly
opened her eyes to see what happened. Blue met Blue in and intense
gaze. Time seemed to stop for these "mortal enemies."

"What's his is hers"

Both Serena and Darien were lost in the moment.
Neither was able to say or do anything. They just kept staring at each
other. To onlookers walking past the "couple," it looked as though
they were very much in love and were about to kiss. With that in mind,
Darien unconsciously inched closer to Serena, who in turn, wrapped her
arms around his neck.
'Oh my God! He's going to kiss me!'
'She's so close! I wanna kiss her! She smells so good
. . . like . . . '
'He smells like roses . . . Why hasn't he kissed me
yet! Hold on a second! Do I actually want him to kiss me?'
' . . . she smels like vanilla and . . . hold on! I'm
going to kiss MEATBALL HEAD! I want to kiss her! No other girl has
ever been able to affect me like this! I wonder what it feels like to
kiss MY meatball head . . . WAIT! MY MEATBALL HEAD! Where did that
come from?! Not that I mind it . . . I love her, . . . don't I?'
Their brains told them to stop, but their hearts
screamed for them to continue.

They were broken out of their trances by the sound of a
mother yelling at them, "NO HENTAI! There are children HERE!" Upon
hearing this, Darien's rationale came back and he let Serena go. She
fell to the ground as he walked away, without apologizing or saying
goodbye.
Darien's POV
'I can't believe I almost kissed her! If it wasn't for
that woman, I could've tasted her sweet lips on mine. I can't believe
this, how could she take away all my self-control! She's so beautiful,
and full of life. She's my angel. Wait! Since when is she mine?
She could never love a cold, heartless person like me . . . I don't
deserve her . . . and she'll probably just laugh if I told her how I
feel . . . I don't need any more pain . . . I have enough to deal
with . . . '

Late that evening, in the laundry room . . .
'I can't believe this! He almost kissed me, and I
didn't do anything to stop him. Do I like him? Who am I kidding, I
love him! I can't, but, . . . but, I do . . . don't I? . . . He could
never love me back though. I'm not as beautiful or sophisticated, like
other girls . . . he'll never see me like that . . .' Tears began
welling up in her eyes. A lone tear escaped and made its way down her
cheek, more began to follow.

Darien entered the laundry room. He was shocked to see
his meatball head there, crying, no less, that he didn't realize the
door somehow closed (AN: the door closing is significant. all shall
be revealed in due course, so don't worry! be patient!).
'Whoever hurt MY Serena will pay!' He clenched his
fists in anger, yet felt pain from seeing her tear-stained face. 'She
should be smiling or laughing, not frowning or crying,' he thought.

Serena was broken out of her reverie by the sound of
another voice. She looked up to see who it was. Blue clashed with
blue for the second time that day.
"What do you want Darien?"
He was taken back by her words, 'Her words are so
harsh. She sounds like she's in a lot of pain,' he thought. He said,
"What happened? Why are you crying? Are you hurt?"
After a long pause, she asked, "Do you think that
anyone could ever love me?" Darien did not expect this from her. He
couldn't believe that she could think no one could ever love her.
Heck, he loved her! But, he could never tell her that. He couldn't
risk his heart getting broken. He still felt a protectiveness over
her,
and couldn't bear to see her in pain. 'She doesn't realize how
beautiful she is, does she?' He responded by saying, "I'm sure that
you'll find that special someone, someday . . . Unlike me, . . .
who will probably live and die alone . . . Who could ever love me?"
"I do."
'Did she just say what I think she said?!
No, I must
be hearing things . . . she can't love me, can she? . . . '
"Darien, what you said about yourself . . . it, it
isn't true. You're handsome and nice, a little annoying at times,
but you're still a great guy . . . Any girl would be happy to have you
in their life . . . I'm happy that you're a part of mine."
Darien looked up when he heard Serena's confession. He
couldn't believe that she was saying those things about him. He also
couldn't believe that she liked, no, loved him. He never thought it
was possible. He was rewarded by seeing Serena blush, and couldn't
help but smile, because he knew she was telling the truth.'
"Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I love you,
. . . I've loved you from the first day I met you."
After saying this,
she blushed even more and began gathering her things. She went to the
door and turned the knob . . .
"Wait! You can't just go! I have something to tell
you . . . I love you too. I've loved you since the moment I first laid
eyes on you. Before I met you, I never believed in love at first
sight, but now I do. You are the most beautiful person I have every
seen. You are the light of my life!"
Tears were falling from both their faces. Serena turned
from the door and set her basket down. She looked at him and said, "I
can't believe you love me back!"
"Well, believe it, cause I do, always and forever!"
"We just have one slight problem."
"What? You don't have a boyfriend, do you?"
He said
somewhat disappointed and hurt at the same time. He looked away from
her. But, he felt two soft and warm hands touching his face, caressing
it with her delicate fingers.
"I don't have a boyfriend." Darien was about to
interupt, but she hushed his lips with two of her fingers, and
continued saying, "The problem is, that we're stuck down here . . .
somehow the door got shut and I can't open it . . . I think its
stuck" (AN: told you the door was important!)
Darien was relieved that that's all it was, and left
Serena somewhat reluctantly. She was right, the doorknob was stuck.
It wouldn't budge. Then he realized that the door can't be opened from
the inside.
"Serena, looks like you're right. We are stuck down
here. But, I'm sure that someone will come down to do their laundry,
or maybe our roommates will get worried when we don't show, and look
for us. Someone will let us out" (AN: that's what he thinks!).
"I don't mind being stuck her with you, Darien."
He
was shocked to hear her say that, but smiled sheepishly at the comment.
He felt a blush creeping up onto his face.
"Its the rats, that I mind spending time with."
"Don't worry, my Princess, I'll protect you!"
"With what?!" she responded laughing.
Darien looked around the room and saw a broom.
"With this!" showing his "weapon" to her, and
continued saying, "Its not exactly a sword, but it'll do! Don't ya
think?"
Serena laughed wholeheartedly at the comment and the
way Darien was acting. That's what went on between the two of them for
the next few hours. They talked about anything and everything that
came to their minds (AN: get your heads out of the gutter! you didn't
honestly think that they would end up doing something else, now did
you? NO HENTAI!). Darien shared his painful childhood, while Serena
vowed never to leave him alone. Soon they were both sleepy. They
cuddled up onone of the dryers. Serena fell asleep almost instantly,
and Darien contented himself with watching his angel sleep.

The Next Morning . . .
Darien woke up to the feeling of something warm and
soft against his body. He opened his eyes and was greeted by his
meatball head. Her meatballs had come partially undone. Somehow
(probably last night), her arms wrapped themselves around his neck and
their legs became entwined with each other. He smiled. He couldn't
believe this was possible . . . that this angel chose to love him.

Soon after Darien, Serena began waking up. She slowly
opened her eyes and was greeted by one of Darien's killer smiles (AN:
you know what i'm talking about!)
"Morning, sleepy-head."
"Morning, muffin."
"Muffin?? . . . I like the sound of that."
"You know what Dare?"
"Hmmm?"
"We still haven't shared our first kiss."
She blushed
at this and Darien looked at her. He wanted to kiss her, so, why not?
"Do you want me to kiss you?"
"Do you wanna kiss me," she countered.
Instead of answering, Darien inched closer, and closer
to her.
"Lets finish what we started the other day, shall we,
Sere?"
"Yes (AN: what else is she going to say!). This time
we won't have any interuptions."
"Like an angry mother!" They both smiled, their faces
millimeters apart. There lips were close, but not touching. Finally,
Darien closed the gap between them.
Both of them felt many things: love, passion, longing
. . . The kiss became deeper, as the seconds passed. Darien coaxed
Serena's mouth open and his tongue opted to play with hers, tasting her
sweet honey. Serena responded to his endeavor with equal passion. His
hands began moving up and down her back, feeling every inch of her
delicate curves. She responded by moving one hand down his neck, and
placing it on his chest. The other one stayed around his neck, playing
with his silky, jet-black hair.
They were so caught up in the kiss that they didn't
notice noises coming from outside that door, nor did they notice that
the door opened to two very worried roommates. They also missed Andrew
and Mina's shocked expressions.
Andrew and Mina: "Did we miss something??!!"
Serena and Darien broke off the kiss for a brief moment.
"I love you, Darien."
"I love you, Serena."
