Cutey Honey, Volume 1
Hee hee....I knew what I was getting into when I rented Cutey Honey for my B-day party. My friends and I wanted to watch it because it was a magical girl kick ass type thing. But uh...I couldn't wait so watched it the day before my party (actually, my party is only 3 hours away today!) ^_^;; And I can't tell you how much I loved it! It's good! The animation is so nice, and the characters have this cute look that love! Also, I can't get over how funny and sterotypical the villians are!Cutey Honey rocks!
The story line goes like this: Cosplay City (tee hee hee!!) is over ran by criminals. Mayor light wants to do something about it. So why he's making a speech, he gets attacked by some baddie mutants. Then this kid,-----, and his Grandpa----- try and save the day. But uh...it doesn't quite work. Then this evil dude named----comes along and takes care of the mutant yickies. Then he gives Mayor Light an altumatun- Join him and Light and Dark could rule the city together, or be overran. Of course, the mayor says no, and says he'll give his life for his city. What this city needs is a hero...or....heroine...by the name of Cutey Honey!
Ahh...I loved this tape. It was funny and action packed. Of course it had Honey's famous trandformations, where her clothes rip off and she bares it all for a few minutes then he clothes rip on again as new outfit. Personally, I think that's the coolest thing on earth! Best part is that there is no stock footage!! Each transformation is unique and original, each one is beutifully excuted and animated.
If I can find one thing I don't like about Cutey Honey is the english theme song (wow....just as I started to type about the theme, the japanse theme just started to play on my Winamp...weird..) is so horrible! The lyrics are nonsense, and the music is toned down. >.<...I loved that little guitar intro and the mix of the music ::sniff:: Dubbie companies have to go and change cool stuff. Oh well, a least the voices were good! Cutey Honey, played by----- did a very good job and Tiffany Grant, known as Asuka in Neon Genisis Evangelion, was so funny as -----'s mom. Cutey Honey is a really enjoyable anime, it's fun and it's a good title to watch with friends. I give it a B+!
