Author's Note

This story takes place a few months after Rini goes home at the end of the “R” series and about two months after the 2nd defeat of Talpa. The Scouts are 14 to 15 years old and the Ronin are 15 to 16 years old. I had the Ronin grow a bit so they would be taller than Lita. That means they are all over 5’7”. If anything else is confusing then please E-mail me and I will either fix it or try to explain it better. Thanks!

Disclaimer: The Sailor Scouts and Ronin Warriors do not belong to me. I do not make any claims on them by writing this story. I am using them without the permission of their creators. But I created Malix so if you would like to use him just give me some credit, please. Now, on with the story.

Prologue

A flash of lightning lit up the night sky illuminating the park and the seven figures walking through it. A loud crash of thunder quickly followed.

“Aaaaaaaaaiiiiiieeeeee!!!” A young girl with blonde hair set in a strange style screamed and clung to her friend’s arm.

“Sailor Moon, get off me! It’s only thunder,” Sailor Mars angrily shouted and shook Sailor Moon off her arm.

“But I hate thunder.”

“Sailor Moon, we’ve a lot more to worry about than thunder and lightning,” lectured a black cat with a yellow crescent moon on her head.

“There really is nothing to worry about from thunder and lightning,” Sailor Mercury stated mater-of-factly. “Thunder is just noise and the chances of getting hit by lightning are so slim that it is really pointless to be afraid of it.”

“But it’s scary,” Sailor Moon pouted. Mars groaned and was about to reply when Sailor Venus interrupted.

“Look! There it is!” A tall, blue monster had a young couple cornered against a stone wall that bordered the path.

“Well, let’s not keep it waiting!” Sailor Jupiter smiled, her green eyes flashed with anticipation of the fight ahead.

“Jupiter Thunder CRASH!!!” she yelled and threw a blast of lightning at the monster. It spun around seemingly unharmed by the attack.

“Who are you?” the monster growled angrily. Sailor Moon took this opportunity to introduce herself.

“I am Sailor Moon! For ruining the happy night that this couple was having you shall not be forgiven. In the name of the Moon I will punish you!” She pointed accusingly at the monster. The monster stared blankly at her for a moment before laughing hysterically. Lightning danced across the sky illuminating the area for a brief moment.

“No pathetic human will punish me.” It floated into the air and began spinning around.

“Whirl-wind ROTATION!!!” A strong wind suddenly swirled into existence creating a small tornado around the monster. The cyclone spun toward the scouts and they jumped out of its way as it came at them. The tornado did not stop once it missed, but continued around and came at them from behind.

“Watch out!” shouted a white cat with a similar crescent moon on his head. Mars and Venus dodged the cyclone and spun around.

“Mars Celestial Fire…”

“Venus Love Chain…”

“SURROUND!!!”

“ENCIRCLE!!!”

The cyclone simply absorbed the combined attack and kept going.

“Sailor Moon, look out!” Mercury cried as it swept past her and went after Sailor Moon. Serena looked up and screamed when she saw the cyclone headed straight for her.

“Help Me!”

“Mercury Bubbles BLAST!!!”

As park filled with fog the cyclone stopped and the monster appeared looking very confused. “Huh? Where did this fog come from?”

“Now Sailor Moon!” cried Jupiter.

“Right.” Sailor Moon stood up straight and the moon scepter appeared in her hand.

“Moon…Scepter…ELIMINATION!!!”

The attack hit the monster dead on and with a scream it disintegrated into dust. Before the Scouts could celebrate their victory a dark figure appeared a few feet away from them.

“Nice job, Sailor Scouts. You have effectively destroyed my monster. But I can assure you that I will not be so easily defeated.”

“Who are you and what do you want?” Jupiter yelled.

“I am Malix and I want the Silver Imperium Crystal. So you had better hand it over.”

“I don’t think so, Malix. We would never hand over the Silver Crystal to you,” Venus called. Thunder boomed in the distance causing Sailor Moon to whimper in fear.

“I had a feeling you were going to make me do this the hard way,” Malix said sounding very bored. Then, before anyone could make a move, Malix raised his arm and shot an energy rope at Sailor Moon. It wrapped around her upper torso, effectively pinning her arms to her sides. He yanked on the rope and pulled Sailor Moon over to him. “So I will just take what I want and leave.”

”Let her go!” Mars shouted. A huge crash of thunder boomed almost directly above the group as if to emphasize the demand.

“AaAaAaAaAa!!!” Sailor Moon screamed as the loud noise dissipated.

“Quiet!” Malix commanded before going back to the others. ”You are not in the position to be giving orders, Sailor Scouts.” With a wave of his arm, Malix created a portal and moved toward it.

“STOP!”

“Sailor Moon!”

“No!”

Malix stepped into the portal dragging Sailor Moon in with him. Right at that moment a huge bolt of lightning shot down from the sky and hit the portal creating a brilliant flash of light. The two figures inside the portal seemed suspended in mid-air for a second before disappearing into the dark, swirling mass. The clouds opened up and a deluge of rain came pouring down from the sky. The other Sailors gaped open-mouthed at the portal that ran with electricity.

“Should we go after them?” Mars asked while trying to shield herself from the rain.

“We have to,” cried Sailor Jupiter, “We can’t just leave Sailor Moon.”

“All right then, lets go!” Venus said as she ran toward the portal. The others followed with Mercury bringing up the rear as she quickly scanned the portal with her computer.

“No!”

“Don’t go in there!”

The cats tried to get the girls’ attention but could not be heard over the pounding rain. They watched with growing dread as the girls disappeared into the dark swirling mass. The portal lasted for a few minutes before dissipating, taking the hope that the girls would return safely with it. A black burn mark on the pavement was the only testament that the portal had been there just moments before.
