Submission Guidelines |
I am no longer accepting fanfics. Please post all fanfics to FanFiction.netThis is what I need from you:
If you want to submit a fanfic to me there are a few things I need. First I need your name or handle and a working E-mail address for your readers to contact you. Then I need the title of your fic and a small, one or two sentence description of your story. Last I need to know what parts you are sending in or if your story is complete. Also I would like to know what you would consider the subject of your story to be. Examples:
If your story is a combination of two or more subjects then please tell me all of them. Like if it is a romantic comedy or an action drama, just say so. Or simply paste this to the top of your E-mail and fill it out. Name/Handle: E-mail Address: Fic Title: Description: Parts Completed/Sent: Subject: Ratings/Warnings (if needed):
When you send in a description with your fic please realize that it is not simply describing your fic, it is a teaser of sorts to make readers want to read your story. Think of it as the blurb on the back of a book. Don't give the story away but make it so the reader knows what it is about. Also, please limit your desription to 5 sentences or less. 2 to 5 sentences should be enough. If it is longer than that I might have to shorten it to conserve space. So please keep it down to 5. You can send your fic any way you want! The easiest ways are to paste it to an e-mail, breaking it down into chapters or parts if it is really long (please), or to attach it to an e-mail. Send it however you feel is easiest for you because I can take them either way. Please spell check and proofread everything you send in. It is the most annoying thing when you read a story and it has bad grammar and spelling. I am a major perfectionist and will fix grammer and spelling mistakes as I html-ize your story but if I get a fic that has a lot of mistakes that could have been caught by a spell checker I will send it back. Please put that little bit of effort into your story, because if you don’t take the time to spell check your story then why should people take the time to try and read it? If your fic has content that could be offensive to some viewers I will need to have a rating put on your story. These ratings are only for stories with a lot of violence, bad language, or sexualy explicit content. A few instances of violence or one or two cuss words does not denote a warning. If your story has a lot of violence then you will have to put a <V> rating on your story. For this rating your story has to contain a lot of violence, not just a small fight scene here or there. Gore, pain, and lots of blood are the types of things that generate this rating. If your story has a lot of bad language then you will need to have an <L> rating put on your fic. For this rating your story has to contain numerous instances of bad language, not just a few bad words through out the chapter or story. If your story contains some sexual content then you will need an <X> rating. Please try to keep this to a minimun. "Off camera" scenes do not need this warning. Lastly, I do not accept lemons. A lemon is a story consisting of mainly or entirely sex scenes. Thank you. Final AdvicePlease do not start a story that you are not going to finish. Orphans are not fun to read. I know what it is like to have a great idea and you want to put in on paper (or computer) and see what people think. But if you don't know how the story is going to end or if you are not going to have enough time to work on it, then don't start. I will willingly accept stories that are not done (mine isn't) but please make the commitment to finish your story. Even if you have to put it away for a few months because you got annoyed with it. Your readers will really appreciate it. |
