As of the moment, I'm an undergraduate student enrolled at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, as a Computer Science major. Like I mentioned, a lot of factors in my life have been pointing me towards a future related with art and graphical design, a field which I'm obviously interested in. I think that I'm gonna stick with Computer Science though (good money). Ultimately I'm hoping to work in the videogame industry, movie industry, or any other field which combines technology and art. The Computer Science background will, hopefully, be a plus. I'm currently employed at an internet startup. I'm doing a lot of page layouts, HTML, Javascript, ASP, and designing the look of the site. I'm mostly using Photoshop 5.5, ImageReady 2.0, and a text editor called editPlus. I'm not a big proponent of so-called WYSIWYG programs like Dreamweaver and Frontpage. True control comes from understanding the details and nuiances of HTML, DHTML, and Javascript. Anyways, you get the point. Technology is definitely going to shape our future and our meager lives. Art will always be what it is, just with new mediums and new techniques. Ideally, I'll land somewhere in the middle. |
