I really love Revolutionary Girl, Utena. My little sister came home with this tape that had a pink haired girl on the cover of it. I wasn't sure what to think, but once I watched it, realized that I was supposed to realize what a great story it is. I think that this is a great anime, but there are a lot messed up relationships in it. I mean, Utena and Anthy aren't that bad, but when you have Anthy and her brother, Akio, and Touga and Nanami, it does raise a few eyebrows. But I don't care. I've always been rather liberal-minded.
Anyway, why don't I get down to the story line? I'm sure no one really cares what I think of Utena. Okay, so this is the story of Utena, a pink-haired princess, and a group of high school students who want to "revolutionize the world." In other words, turn it upside down, and I think kill everyone else on the earth. But who knows? I have to admit that the story can be a little confusing. During the first part of the story, one learns who Utena and the student council is. One also meets the Rose Bride (Anthy), and Utena's best friend. There are still a lot of unanswered questions that one gets during these tapes, like who are the two shadow people, why does Miki always have that stopwatch, and why does the council have to fight for the Rose Bride. (I feel so bad for Anthy. Everyone feels free to slap her. I'm glad she's got Utena.)
