Ok so he wasn't really a good guy yet, but he was gettin there. The deathbed confession of his past and his tears even convinced Goku that Vegeta was willing to change. Most of his "good deeds" on Namek were out of either fear of Frieza or his attempts to gain immortality. He was always planning on killing Goku and the others after they helped him defeat Frieza, but the idea never came to fruit as Vegeta was killed by Frieza. This was the begining of his slide toward being a Hero rather than a Villain, so that's why I included this time in this section.

Eventually, after settling down some, and after the whole Frieza thing, Vegeta pretty much becomes a full fledged good guy. He reminds me of Piccolo, when Piccolo originally started to team up with his ex-nemesis, Goku. Vegeta behaves the same way. He still has his attitude, but he helps the Z warriors to defend Earth. He even PROTECTS the innocent. It's not anything you would have expected happening while watching the original Saiyan Saga (one reason i love this series).
