*Saturday*
The Editor Makes His Grand Enterance...

We all woke up early to shower, but I hit the sleep button too many times to count. We made it to Masquerade rehearsal early, though, it worked out. Everyone kept staring at my Mama hat. A lot of people told me it was awesome, but a few asked why I had a squirrel on my head. *sigh* Some people just don't get anime. ^_~ Actually, I think more people need to watch Kodomo no Omocha. It's a feel-good show. I'm only on episode 16 as I write this, and I'm addicted to it.

Rehearsal was utterly pointless. We basically sat for hours watching some girl play with her talking CCS wand. Oh well.

Afterwards, we went out to eat. I took of my hat and Liz took off her wig, but we still got nasty looks and rude service in Denny's. Go figure.

We saw another Mama! And she was so cool! Brian got a picture! I can't wait to see it. She was in the mile-long line for the dealer's room, which is where we went after I got my hat back on. I was in a bad mood so I needed to buy anime stuff. And boy, did I ever! I got the super-cute Card Captor Sakura Illustrations Collection 3 artbook, an Ayashi no Ceres Tooya pin, and the next Viz book of Fushigi Yugi. It was a super fun shoujo shopping day. The dealer's room was very small, though, and I was pretty disappointed. No Slayers stuff at all except videos and few overpriced items. >_<

Then it was back to the room. None of us felt like standing in line to see Ikuhara-san, so we just didn't. We relaxed, gathered our thoughts, and prepared to humilate ourselves on stage. We went next door to watch some DDR (Brian played...he was pretty good). Then it was time for the masquerade.

Brian was playing Onda-san (the editor who chases Mama) but no one thought he was in costume, since it consisted of jeans and white shirt. >_< We sat in a tiny room with lots of other people in costume (most were better than ours) and waited to be lined up to go on stage. We talked to the guys (and girl? I think there was a girl) from They've Got Some Nerv. Funny guys.

We couldn't really watch the skits, since it was hard to see on the TV we had backstage and the sound was awful. Poor Liz had the first walk-on! I don't know how she did it >_< Brian and I had the first skit after intermission. Strange how that worked out. It was nerve-racking (or nerv-racking, to make a bad EVA joke). But it was fun.

None of us won any awards, but our skit got a good round of applause and lots of laughter. That's good enough for me. After all, going up on stage and making people laugh is a great thing to be able to do once in a while. ^_^

Aftere the masqeurade and the ACP Photo, we went back to our room to change into normal clothes. I love being in costume and all, but it felt great to wear jeans a tee shirt.

We went down to the lobby again where we ran into Dustin, Vilay, and company (our con buddies). We hung out in our room for a while and then went down to karaoke, where we found Vilay's sister. Brian signed up to do karaoke, but it got too late and we just went upstairs. Brian did sing with another group, though, so he didn't totally miss out. Next con, I may actually sing! I'm practicing "Scarlet" from Ayashi no Ceres... hehehe

It was awesome. It was probably the best day of the con, although Friday was good too.

Quote of the Day: "Hey, isn't that the editor from Kodomo no Omocha?" - we know people were whispering this as Brian walked by.

read on to Sunday...
