*Sunday* We slept in Sunday, having had less than 5 hours sleep during the rest of the weekend. We needed it. At 10 am, Liz & I went down to the dealer's room (Brian wanted to sleep longer) and bummed around. Liz bought the Card Captor Sakura Illustrations Collection 1 and I finally found the Card Captor Sakura 2nd movie soundtrack (I bought the movie months ago in Japantown, but I never could find the soundtrack). Back at the room, Brian was dressed and ready to go. Only we weren't sure where to. We walked by one of the video rooms and they were showing an EVA parody (ReDeath) so we sat down to watch. It was hilarious. The whole "It's Gendou" thing was great. Then we met up with our conbuddies again (I'm telling you, either they were stalking us or we were stalking them). We took a few pictures and then Liz, Brian, and I went to get some breakfast. We made yet another trip to Denny's. I'm never going to Denny's in Santa Clara ever again. To all the employees, I spit in your direction! We got back in time for the voice acting panel. None of us got to read, but it was amusing anyhow. If anything, it did reveal to me some of the problems with English dubs. I was dressed as Utena (but there weren't as many as there had been on Sat.) but the wig was really bugging me. We went and changed into our "normal" clothes for the rest of the con (which was approximately an hour long). Once again, we met up with our friends. We talked for over an hour, took pictures, and went crazy. Liz had a video camera, so we just interviewed random people about Fanime Con (including a guy who was very scared of the camera and one of the Vash cosplayers). Then our conbuddies left (*cry*) and we were left on our own, excited about the upcoming AX and sad to have no one to talk to. Steve Bennett, of Studio Ironcat, saw us messing around with the camera and came over to ask for a copy. We agreed and then got him to plug our anime club (TAMA) on video. It was cool. ^_^ The hotel was virtually dead by 5 PM. We went out into Santa Clara in search of place to rent a VCR (Brian had new Irresponsible Captain Tylor tapes and I had finally tracked down the first OAV tape of Master of Mosquiton!) Sadly, the two blockbusters we found had no VCRs. *sigh* We'll bring one to AX, that's for sure. Quote of the Day: "It's Gendou" - EVA Redeath Parody (you can download a clip!!) |
