*Thursday* We got lost. I mean, really lost. So lost, even the woman at the gas station couldn't tell us what town we were in. (But we also think she was on crack. She told us Great America was in Vallejo.) Our directions sucked but we found a map in the car. That's the last time I trust Yahoo! Maps... geez. Apparently there were 2 Mission Street exits. By taking the 1st, we got really lost. *shrug* We managed to get to the hotel by 4:30 though, so it wasn't so bad. Of course, the hotel made us pay upfront. Worse yet, they punished us for paying cash. Because of our method of payment, they blocked out our phones and pay-per-view priveleges. (If we wanted these, we would have had to pay an extra $100 deposit per night and let's face it... we're poor college student otaku.) So we spent a lot of time at the pay phones on Thursday. Thrusday was pretty boring, really. I have in my journal that Brian took a shower and Liz photographed her CCS staff. How fun. I worked on my Utena costume a little, but I couldn't really get it to work right. And I didn't bring a swimsuit (I don't wear them out of respect for anyone who's trying to enjoy the pool), so I couldn't go hot tubbing either. >_< Thursday we were supposed to meet up with on of our roommates, Justin, but he never showed. We actually sat at a table in the lobby with a little paper sign that said "Justin" on it in hope he's show up, but he didn't and we got bored. (I wonder what the people who saw us there thought.) We saw tons of people in anime tee shirts. I was the only one in an EVA shirt that I saw but that changed as the con progressed. All and all, Thursday was not the best day of the con. |
