Who the Wyrd Sisters Are

Yeah, Yeah, Whatever.

Mythology buffs will probably be confused as to why we call ourselves the Wyrd Sisters, and then proceed to use the Greek names for the members of that triad. Well, here's Hecate to explain!
The Wyrd Sisters are the Norse version of both the Fates and the Moon Triad. They are named Erde, Verdandy, and Skuld, and maintain the God-Tree Yggdrasil. Since this is already the foundation of the series "Ah! My Goddess", we decided not to use those names. However, since we LOVE Macbeth, and quote the parts of the three witches quite often, people started to call us the Wyrd Sisters. So we kept that name.
As for the goddess we call ourselves after, all three are Greek. Hecate (pronounced "heck-a-tay") is the goddess of the crossroads, usually depicted as having three heads, either human or of a horse, a snake, and a dog. She has two ghost dogs as pets, and appears during the new moon. Mene (pronounced "may-nay") is also known as Selene (say-lay-nay), and is the goddess of the twilight and full moon. Her sister is Ios, the dawn. Mene fell in love with the human shepard Endymion, which myth forms the basis of the series Sailor Moon. She is either shown as a woman in full bloom or a beautiful young woman. Artemis is the last of the trio. She is the virgin goddess of the hunt, as well as the sister of Appollo. She is usually depicted wearing a crescent moon crown in the company of a deer.
As for the real Wyrd Sisters, well, we really are sisters. Hecate is the oldest, followed by Mene and then Artemis. And we probably aren't quite as insane as we sound here. At least, that's what we hope!
And that's my explanation. As Anne Bronte said in the end of Agnes Grey, "And now I think I have said sufficent."
