Author's Note: Well, this is the second to last one. 0.o Yup yup yup!!
Touya fell to the ground with a thud. He was bullet-free and well enough. Looking over, he found out that Heero had managed to push him down right before the bullet would have hit him. Muttering a quick thanks to Heero, he joined the other boy in returning the other soldiers fire. Heero noticed that Touya had learned how to handle a gun fairly quickly and said, "I see you've learned the art of killing very quickly. But, that's actually a very sad thing. Killing is a skill I wish I never had to learn...."
Touya looked over at his comrade. Killing is a skill he wished he never had to learn...his past must be hurting him... Touya didn't have time to think about anything else when Heero began to give him a crash course in mobile suit operation.
The plan of the remaining Gundam boys and Shaoran was to strike the base hard and fast. There would be no infiltration, somewhat to Duo's dismay. The Gundams were to be used, but Li had refused to go in one. It appeared to be that he wished to help them out in his own way.
As the other boys loaded up their Gundams, Shaoran sat in a dark corner of the hanger. Fingering the amulet at the end of his sword, the boy's mind drifted off to his own world. Sakura-chan...is everything well with you? Whatever the situation, I hope it's better than it is here...
The boy was jolted back into the present when Duo called out to him. "Ready Li? 'Cause we're leaving!!" Shaoran nodded his head and went over to the hanger door.
A giant crash woke Sakura up in the morning. Looking out her window to find out what it was, she found a large black mobile suit in the street. "HHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!" she screamed when she saw the sight. Over the intercom, came a rather familiar voice - Touya's. "Sakura, it's me. Touya. Heero and I went out last night and stole them," he calmly explained.
Sakura had waken up the rest of the household with her scream. They came clambering into her room and shouted out, "Are you all right?!" No response came from Sakura because she was still staring out the window. Following her stare, the rest of the people saw the two Taurus mobile suits.
The hatch of Heero's suit opened, and he came into view. "Touya and I are ready for the beginning of the final battle. Are you?" he said in a monotone voice. Sakura looked at her friends. They all nodded at her, and she nodded back. Looking back at Heero, she answered, "Yes. Let the final battle begin!"
"But first! You all have to change into the costumes I made for you!!" put in Tomoyo, who had several costumes in her hands.
Deathscythe lowered its hand and let Shaoran off. The group of five then turned and faced the large military and magical formation in front of them. Quatre voice came over the intercome and he said, "Li, you take care of the magical beasts. The other boys and I will handle the mobile suits. Does everyone understand what our mission is?"
"Ryoukai!"
The Gundams took off in a flurry of dust, and Shaoran ran towards the regiment of magical beasts.
Heero was definitely not happy with wearing a costume into battle. His costume consisted of a forest green, sleeveless, mock turtleneck, black pants, a black trench coat with one long sleeve and one short sleeve, and forest green gloves, one long and one short. All of these things were decorated with silver designs of angel wings. The wings don't suit me.
Touya had not escaped without a costume either. He wore about the same thing as Heero, but the colors were different. Where Heero had black, he had navy, and where Heero had forest green, he had white. Tomoyo had decided that if they were to work as a team, they would have to look like a team.
Sakura was clad in a short, ruffly, white dress with ribbons flowing all over the place. She wore a fitting pink trench coat like jacket. She also wore long white stockings that came up to her middle thigh, and they went with pink shoes with a large bow on them. To top it all off, Sakura wore a headband with a giant bow on the left side. "Hoooooeeeeee......this is so embarassing, Tomoyo-chan!" she exclaimed when she was finished changing.
Even Eriol didn't escape Tomoyo's "wrath." He bore a deep violet shirt, black pants, and a long, sweeping, black cloak; all of these were decorated with designs of stars, moons, and suns. He also had black gloves with gold suns on the backs of them.
Tomoyo was quiet unhappy that she couldn't give Yue, Keroberos, Ruby Moon, and Spinel Sun costumes. She was also unhappy that she couldn't come with them to tape their adventures. As Tomoyo waved them off, Eriol whispered to Sakura, "It looks like we all have escaped without hats!"
The card captor group walked together until they met a fork in the road. The military base was one way, Galantha's home in the clouds in another. They bid a quick farewell to each other and went their separate ways - Heero with Touya, and Sakura with the rest of the group. Sakura turned her head and looked at the mobile suits and whispered to no one in particular, "The last battle is just over the horizon...."
More from the Author: I know...this one is really really really short. If I had written any more, then it would have been the start of the last battle! Now, if I cut off there, that wouldn't have been good, right? So...yup. Almost done!!
